I withdrew a small balance from Paypal on 30th March. They advised it will not get into my bank account up to and including 9th April.

This seems an inordinate amount of time to wait for monies to be deposited. Obviously Easter is included in all of this, but to me it

seems very wrong. Its not there today, so really it could take until next Monday for it to arrive!!

I find Paypal withdrawals hit my bank the next business day. Usually around 11pm.

Paypal ALWAYS quote 5 business days for funds tranfer. This is a BANKING standard, nothing to do with Paypal. As is the time between you withdrawing the funds and them showing in your account. 9 April is 5 business days after 30 March.
