A dilemma....

I went to list a book, which I hadn't had listed for 6 months or more.

Checked other copies for prices, condition etc and to my absolute horror , I have found my own copy there.

I supposedly relisted about 2 weeks ago.

The problem is, I haven't relisted it all. It's not on my selling list and hasn't been there for some months.

I can't give an item number as it's not on my listings.

Is this a new glitch or something else eBay is up to???

Any help would be appreciated.

Is it actually your listing what I mean has it got all your details and not some other seller?

Most definately mine. All the details are correct for anything I sell.
It's also my photo, not a stock photo.

It's just plain weird!

It's not that someone has just copied and pasted one of your actual listings (photo and all) and the posted it as their own listing ?

I wonder if it is some kind of 'glitch' caused from ebay's new look/layout for store pages ?

That did cross my mind but they would have done it over 6 months ago when I had it up last.
It gives the correct location and post code as well as the correct price, postage and everything else.
Good luck for someone else selling it as it should come through my account....I hope!

If it some sort of glitch, I am so not impressed to say the least. I can cope with most glitches but this is way beyond a joke.
Hope it hasn't happened to anyone else.

Is it selling under another eBay ID ?

If so then possibly a hijacked account for getting personal deatails when someone buys.

They could have googled for items to list.

I was going to ask next, if it is listed under another member name, if that member had bought from you or bid on your books in the past, and if so, if maybe their account had been hijacked and scammer has then gotten listing details from the genuine account owner's bids/offers history

Also a reply to Kopenhagen 5... my stomach just did major butterflies!!
I've gone back in and the seller is me!!!! Thankfully not another seller. I might cross out the hijacked account.
I might just have to think it's a glitch of some sort..I hope.

Or is it possible someone is in on your account.

I would probably consider changing my passwords.

But then again, if it's your listing, probably a glitch.

I had changed my passwords about 4 or 5 weeks ago.

At least I was pointed in the right direction and double checked the so-called listing.

It's most definitaley mine.

I am putting it down as a glitch.

I might relist the book again, possibly in another 6 months time.

If my memory serves me correctly, Stalks had a similar problem a few weeks ago, maybe she'll spot this thread and come on board

There were also some members that had their listings relisted and the items actually sold but there were no items to sell and I think stawka caught it before it got any further with hers.

As said before, I don't think my account has been hijacked because it seems to be just the one item

I'm lucky in the fact that if it does sell, I still have the copy available.
Didn't sell 6 months ago so I'm not holding my breath this time around!!

Yes., this has happened about 3 or 4 times this year, so far.

The items that were re-listed, unbeknown to me, were actually one-offs that were sold

last August!!

I caught them in time, but only by accident, before someone bought them - again.

Now I'm watching very closely.

Another poster also mentioned last August as the time for their re-list by ebay.

Someone bought something this week that I couldn't find, and I panicked.

Turned the place upside down.

Turns out, I had misfiled it - paper goods - easy to do.

I think it might be their sneaky way of handing out defects for OOS.

A hijacked account suddenly selling high-end items would make sense. But one selling a book...?

I was the other person this happened to. I recently 'sold' a one-off shirt, and then couldn't find it (not an easy item to lose). I checked back through my sold items, and there it was - sold last August. I have no idea how it came to be relisted. Fortunately the person who 'bought' the shirt was very understanding, but it could have turned out quite badly. So yes, these relisting glitches can happen.
