Good afternoon one and all 🙂

Well, we’ve just been elevated, if that’s the right word, to Top Rated Seller.

What does this mean in the real world?

Do we get a free bag of yum yum Darryl Lea Rocky Road .... lol.

I’ve been in Giru (up near Townsville) for a few days. Up amongst the finest people in Australia. You just can‘t beat good country folk. T’was a bit hard boarding for BRisVegas 😞

Congratulations!!

I've been a top rated seller now for about 6 months and basically nothing much has happened out of the ordinary, apart from those pesky emails from ebay. Those ones which tell me I have information missing from my listings (and I don't!!).

Apparently, to make things better for us, we can offer same day or one day postage, complete with express postage and go a bit higher in the best matches. At least I think it is how it works. Some wiser person may set me straight on this.

I just won't go down the 0/1 day postage handling times.

I also refuse to do express postage unless a buyer asks for it and pays for it. A lot of my items are under $10 (with postage added on) . I don't like having to to ask for more money when when it's not required.

All in all, not much changes.

Just proves how hard you have been working and keep it up!

Do TRS still lose their free listings, or was that Powersellers ?

I know it doesn't apply to you masters as you have a store.

I'm a TRS (and a PS) but not a store holder, and I still have 40 free listings each month.

From ebay's seller performance page:

Becoming a Top Rated Seller indicates that you consistently deliver outstanding customer service, and also makes you eligible to receive a prominent eBay Premium Service badge on qualifying listings.

To become a Top Rated Seller you'll need to:

*    Have an eBay account that's been active for at least 90 days
*   Have at least 100 transactions and AU $1,000 in sales during the last 12 months
*    Have a Feedback score of 100 or more, with at least 98% positive Feedback over the past 12 months
*    Comply with eBay's selling practices policy
*    Meet the requirements for transaction defect rate, cases closed without seller resolution and late shipment rate.

So it appears as though the only reward is it "makes you eligible to receive a prominent eBay Premium Service badge on qualifying listings."

Nothing to get excited about. Ebay don't reward -just punish.

Think of it as meaning that you are now a step further away from the punishment of falling below standard.

I always look for that badge when I'm considering buying something.

If I see it, I think "What a s**khole", and move on to another seller.

None of us did. It is automatic. You DO get access to the Powerseller board, where you can hobnob it with those sellers who wouldn't be seen dead talking to us plebs (except for a few notable exceptions); much less offer any advice or solutions.

I once saw a PS ask a question. A link to the relevant thread in this board was posted. "I don't look at the other boards" was the reply.

There isn't anywhere else where one can read what buyers have to say... or sellers who have fallen foul of eBay's ever-changing rules. I'm surprised that the PS didn't think these boards were a valuable customer service resource.

The premium badge is different again. For it to show, you have to be TRS, you must offer 0-1 day handling and you must offer free postage (something is telling me there is a 4th requirement). It's been ages since I was TRS on any of my accounts and nothing has really changed. I never had a premium badge because I refuse to offer free postage and refuse to have a 1 day handling time.

Congrats on getting it! It's a chest puffing moment when it appears the first time. Go you!

I lost the free re-lists option, eBay said it was because I was a Power Seller, but because I have 2 other accounts (not PS status) I lost the option on those as well 😢

I never lost the free relists when I was TRS and PS.....EVER. Most people don't. I think you and some others are just really unlucky. EBay always use the excuse it's because you are TRS, but that's not the case. Not for most anyway. You lose them if you have sold over 100 items AND made $12,000 in the last 365 days (rolling days, not a calender year). EBay will try and tell you it's OR, but it's AND.

You also lose them if one or more accounts are upgraded to a business account......and that includes anyone else in your house, whether you own the accounts or not.
