Thankfully, I'm yet to experience any quibble over my postage prices; before of after purchase (I did have one buyer query the $25 quote for international registered parcel, but I simply offered to forward the link to Aus Post's website where the quote came from and the buyer declined, purchased and paid), though I've heard of buyers taking issue with as little as 10c over the cost of stamps 😮

Im really over buyers who bid and win an item or buy it now and THEN complain that the postage is too high or tell me how i should send it to make it economical.

Last time i checked I knew how to package stuff. I really wish buyers would check that they are ok with the set postage listed before they buy something. I get people who pay and then i list the item as sent and then they ask for express two days later complaining they needed the item asap. Honestly, selling on ebay used to be fun and easy. People like this need to get off ebay.

ebay buyers are very demanding. They want it fast, they want it cheap and they want it good.

Some buyers can very picky and expect way more than is reasonable but if you are regularly receiving complaints (or queries), about the same issue, then you need to examine what you are doing.

I think your postage is too high, but I would just not buy from you, not complain after the fact.

Maybe you should see if there is a more economical way of sending those shoes. An upto-3kg prepaid parcel from Aus Post costs about $11.50 and could probably fit those shoes in, with a dollar or two added for safety packaging material. So, maybe something like $15 would be more reasonable.

I agree that buyers should not complain after purchase however I do think your postage is a bit excessive. I would not buy from you because of the postage. As an experienced seller myself I know exactly how much it should roughly be and I am sure a 3kg satchel would be much cheaper. Even Click & Send would be cheaper again. Even if you did charge a bit more foe bubble wrap etc.

If you are to get. Or whales you need to look at your postage prices. There are much cheaper ways to post.

Have to agree with the others, there is no way I would want to pay what you charge for postage. It is also against eBay rules to overcharge on postage; you are only allowed to charge the actual postage, although you are allowed to ad little bit for handling and packaging materials. You are losing sales and sooner or later somebody will report you for fee avoidance.

hear hear! I used to like selling on ebay but i'm over it now. ppl demant and expect too much & complain too much about EVERYTHING! I even spoke my mind on a discussion forum last night which was not at all offensive, but someone even complained about that! gees! Or maybe ebay just didn't like me pointing out that there are major problems with it??? I thought these forums were for ppl who had something to say??? Maybe not....

Not complaining -just an observation about

postage costs.-after i have paid it.

Have purchased on here for years.

One seller i use has a post fee of $6.00.

The small booklets arrive in an envelope

made from 2 folded A4 sheets with $1.60 stamps.

A recent seller -the postage cost was $25.00,

put $6.00 change in the parcel because the seller

realised the postage was too much--it evens out........Richo.

People like that you should immediately report to ebay. It is against ebay rules to bid on an auction and then complain about the price of the goods or the postage. It is a violation of ebay rules so report report report!!!

sucessful businesses model their methods around buyer perceptions, whatever they may be. Its all about marketiing

I don't think those shoes with very high heels should be posted in a satchel.

To protect the heels they need to be in a box.

The crystal ducks need to be double boxed.

Don't worry about your postal charges if you are packing them properly. They are reasonable for using boxes instead of satchels.

Satchels are not the answer to all postal problems.

As for buyers complaining about the cost of postage you just have to get used to it.

Don't let it worry you because you will get complaints even if you offer free postage!

I had one would-be buyer wanting to know how much of the BIN price I would be using for posting the item because they didn't want to over pay for the item.

Poor them, they didn't get a chance to buy it.

Just expect to receive complaints and odd questions about all aspects of your listings and there is a delete button for all those emails.

Correct me if I am wrong but I was under the impression that shipping included handling. Which to me means eBay allows you to charge what ever you see fit/reasonalbe for your handling of the item included in shipping fee.

In other words I would just go with that as a simple explanation to a buyer. Tell them it includes handling and remind them you don't live off fresh air.

Im really over buyers who bid and win an item or buy it now and THEN complain that the postage is too high or tell me how i should send it to make it economical.

Okay, I have looked at some of your listings and it reminded me of an experience I had when I first joined eBay. I had won an auction and when I got the invoice I paid the amount I had been invoiced.

At that time I didn't even realise that the Payments and Postage tab contained info I should read. The seller ripped me about not reading payment instructions and I replied "what payment instructions? I paid the invoiced amount". I learnt a good early lesson about reading everything in a listing.

Now that I sell on a number of IDs I include the information contained in the Seller's Payment Instructions in my Descritpions as well as my Seller's Payment Instructions. I am guessing that many of your troublesome buyers are doing the same as I did and not reading that information in your loisting OR on your invoices.

On your listings maybe you should put the line "If you require registered post please inform me AT TIME OF PURCHASE, not after. If you dont like the postage costs, dont buy the item. :)" into the body of your descritpion as well as the payment instructions.

Your descriptions are short and to the point, so adding this line will not make your description really long.

Good luck with your future listings.

If you dont like the postage costs, dont buy the item

LOTB I find those sort of comments in a listing a little too smug because if I am happy with the postage costs I don't need that sort of nonsense from any seller.

If the OP wishes to put such a line in their listing so be it however they must also be told that some buyers don't like lectures when buying.

As an adult I like to be treated as such.

That line is already in the OP's listings (in the Postage and Payments tab) . . . . . it is not my line or anything I would ever put in one of my listings. The first time the buyers are now seeing that line is probably on the invoice. To me it an excuse/invitation to not pay as the seller is instructing you to not pay if you don't like the postage cost!

I agree that buyers who know the postage cost before bidding or buying should pay that cost when invoiced. Perhaps the OP should include "Postage cost of $20 includes all postage, packing and handling" in the descriptions.

Buyers should not complain about postage after they have purchased and I for one only bid on the total cost so it makes no difference to me how much a seller charges but right or wrong a lot of buyers do not see things that way.

Many of them have no idea how much a particular item should cost to post so if they see twenty bucks for a pair of pumps they don't see it as unreasonale until they arrive in packaging that costs almost half that. I package shoes extremely well and with a couple of dollars handling charge can post a massive pair of size 13 extra wide fitting ladies shoes with tracking for well under twenty dollars never mind a tiny pair of size 8s..

The OP would probably do a lot better if they stopped saving a few cents in FVFs by charging a high amount for delivery and added the extra onto the item price.

Yeah customers don't have the right to complain about postage, and considering ebay says you can charge as much as you see fit for your handling i honestly don't get why the hell ebay even made postage feedback an option to begin with.
