If eBay force a full refund, perhaps you can request the buyer to send it to you, though I guess it will have to depend on how well previous communications went. It's not a good position for ebay to put you in, of course, but if the buyer has been understanding or empathetic, you may be able to come to a mutual agreement without further interference from ebay (that's assuming you receive the parcel - has the buyer queried why it's taking so long?)

Failing that, or perhaps rather than that, I'd be inclined to get eBay to remimburse me (despite the possibility of it being a hair-tearing experience that could take a while). Their mistake, they should pay the $$'s.

BIG eBAY RETURN STUFF UP BY eBAY

Had a buyer request a return for an item on 24/6. I don't normally accept returns for Change of Mind (in this case it didn't fit) which is the reason the buyer added to the Return Request.

I accepted the Return Request on 24/6, buyer sent the item back on 29/6 and the amount showing in the Resolution Centre was the "purchase price" only.

On checking the tracking, item was sent from W.A. to Vic and arrived in Sunshine 2/7 11.57am then to Ardeer the same day at 5.41pm then back to Welshpool W.A. 5/7 at 5.15pm.

Today is 10/7 and no sign of the parcel.

I emailed ebay merely asking a question, How long do I have to wait for this item, as it is nearly 3 weeks since the Return Request was accepted.

Now, here is the problem. ebay, without my consent or asking if I wanted it, have escalated this and it is now Item Not Received and the amount of refund is now including the original purchase price plus original postage.

Pretty peeved at this, as I DID NOT at anytime ask them to escalate and now they are forcing me to refund postage, when CHange of Mind returns are not required to refund postage.

So I rang ebay (or acutally got them to call me), the rep told me I have to refund the postage. I asked why, it was showing as only the purchase price yesterday as a change of mind and since the bot escalated it, it now includes the postage. She said because there is no option for a partial refund. I again explained the amount was only the purchase price but it has today added the postage.

So, there is nothing I can do since ebay botched this, and I am now required to refund purchase price and original postage.

Really peeved!

Thanks Digi. It's really annoying since I didn't ask them to escalate and now they're expecting me to refund postage. I will contact them again and request a credit.
