Quick question - posting a secondhand electrical item

Hi all, Just a quick question. Electronics is not my field but am selling someones X-box and have made it pick up only.

When selling out of my field I think 'what can they do to affect my account etc'.

So if I post the item, even though it is working - the buyer could pretend it is not working, how do I prove it?

After experiencing one or two horrendous customers with NEW clothing items [that had nothing wrong with them] I would rather the person turn up, see it is working and go with the item. I have however had many requests to post.

[Sorry, its not actualy quick!!]

Anyway any opinions from those experienced in this are? greatly appreciated before I message yet another customer asking for postage 🙂

So if I post the item, even though it is working - the buyer could pretend it is not working, how do I prove it?

You can't win an item not as described case but the buyer would be required to return the item.

You're right, pick up only is a better option. Having it working as demo as the buyer picks it up.

But if you decide to post, make sure you have the serial number and even mark the item with an invisible pen.

Don't want someone doing a swap on a return but it's still a nightmare through eBay if they do.

The best way to sell these types of items is to offer cheaply and just get rid of it.

But as you are selling for someone it's not that simple.
