Missing items & Qld

I have just had my 5th (so far this calendar year) 'where is my item?'. All have been large envelopes and all have been to Qld. I am in Adelaide......anyone else having problems?

Too many to be coincidental...strange that all tracked items are being delivered!

No i haven't noticed anything so far, touch wood. I am in Qld.

These days all my large envelopes are tracked though ...

Thanks...I'm wondering though, do all items from interstate go through the same sorting centre initially?

my parcels come to Brisbane sorting centre first and then to our local mailing centre for delivery

are you in Brisbane, though?

For instance if I send something to Townsville....will it go via Brisbane or straight to Townsville's nearest sorting centre?

No I am not in Brisbane - I am further north - I just didn't want to put it here.

So for Townsville, I assume it will first go to Brisbane.

We're in NSW and most of ours go untracked.

We don't get many missing items, and generally don't seem to have any geographical correlation.

However, we have found that items to Queensland can take a day or 2 longer than you would generally expect, ie longer than items sent to Victoria, Tasmania or even SA, more on a par with WA which seems a bit odd.

That's strange as I generally find that items that do get delivered from S.A. to Qld take about 3 days (same as to Vic)....maybe they go by road & ours go by air??

Who knows, but it's possible - our letters all go to Sydney then onwards from there. Parcels are a bit quicker as they're sorted at Newcastle first.

Actually, the last problem buyer we had was from your area - hope it wasn't you in another guise 😄

This may be a silly question, but are you posting these in the same mail box? A few years back we sent a letter that never arrived, and then our neighbour had the same thing with a few letters, seems we posted in the same mailbox. We posted elsewhere after that and no more problems. We were later told by a friend who drove by this mailbox daily, that one on occasion they saw a postal worker with a bag of mail on the ground and he was rifling through it. These days I only post letters at the Post Office.

If the problem was the red box where you post the items, you'd be having problems with missing items to all states, not just Qld.

I've had a few go missing in Queensland recently. Although with the last one it's a tossup whether it really went missing since the "customer" was in quite a hurry to open an INR.

Queensland actually makes up the majority of my domestic sales, but I have not had one missing item from there in over 3 years.

I'm posting from WA.
