I always called them a "Salt Cellar"

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paper_fortune_teller

The salt cellar is an origami "base" that is then used to make other things (cranes?). It's also flipped over and used as a fortune teller.

Remember that TV show with Robert somebody or other? We watched that every time it played, back in the late 1960's or early 70's

Here you go (various names via Wikipedia, chatterbox seems to be the most widely used, and if you google 'paper chatterbox' you get quite a few results): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paper_fortune_teller

I almost want to recommend "cootie catcher", though. :8}

Hey, these things could marketed as party favours by anybody who wanted to print and fold them up. ?:|

But, they'd need to be ribald adult themes to sell lots and my imagination doesn't bend that way. 😐

I can not believe people will pay for something like that now. We used to pull pages out of our exercise books and make our own....about 60 years ago. I taught my children and grandchildren how to make them and have always known them as "pickaboxes".
