Postage Star Rankings

I have been selling on ebay for years but suddenly find I am restricted to 25 items per month because my seller performance is below standard. My dash board says I have 2.73% Low ratings for postage and Handling. If I sell anything above 1kg I use the Ebay postage calculator with the correct weight and dimensions, other than that I charge the exact cost for the flat rate. I do not charge any handling fees. It seems that people rank you on the Australia Post costs not on what you charge which is hardly fair. I just cannot understand why my ranking is so low Which just by the way is only 5 bad ratings in the last 12 months. Seems to me Ebay have this wrong but apparently there is nothing you can do.

4.9s across the board with the last negative (of only 3) rating being over 6 months ago. That's very strange.

I know thats why I don't get it and the 3 negs were from someone blatantly trying to rip me off which I thought ebay sorted out as I got my seller fees back, but thats another story.

If you are talking about this ID you will need to call eBay. Over all it shows as 4.9 but what most likely happened is that somebody either accidentally or maliciously left only 1 or 2 stars for postage cost. While that would not show in your otherwise good rating, eBay takes exemption to low star ratings and such rating will affect your ranking.

It does seem odd considering you have 4.9 for postage costs.

But of course buyers will rate you on AP charges, if they pay say $17 postage and they can see that the stamps only come to $7 then yes they will rate you low, these are just numbers i pulled out of the air.

Buyers like to see that what they have paid in postage is pretty much the same as what the stamps say plus another $2 or so for the box or bag etc, how else are they ment to rate you?

I guess only you know how much you charge and how much actual postage comes to.

Hi SHC.. I know what you are saying but thats my whole point! I charge what Aus post charges and not a cent more or a cent less but if a buyer thinks $17 is expensive they penalise you when they think they they are just complaining about the cost of postage these days when they do their rankings. Anyway, in the meantime I have been onto eBay live chat and they sorted it no worries. Thanks for the input tho 😉
