Is better to take your own photos as then the buyer can see you actually have it

i wouldnt take a photo from the manufacturers website unless you are a reseller and have permission. These websites have copyright and some websites do track the page you visit and what you download and take of the site

Before you think about selling, use this link to read up. Read ALL the links on the left. Ask questions first not later, and make sure your Paypal a/c is upgraded to a Premier or Business one, as you cant use a Personal one for selling.

As far as pictures go, in some categories eBay offer stock photos, which you can use, but on the whole it's better to take a picture of the actual item you are selling. Never use one from a website, nor anyone else's listings.

As above, great advice all round. Do take your own photos, in daylight outside if possible, if not, inside, but make sure the backgrounds aren't too cluttered with other things. Fill the picture frame with the object you are selling.

Start with low value items - thus lessening the risk of attracting scammers to your listings, also probably avoid electronic items, these do seem to attract scammers.

You should probably allow half an hour per item to list at first. But don't dispair, you will get a lot quicker as you become more experienced.

It's also easier if you download Turbo Lister,(it's an eBay listing tool).

This will also allow you to prepare your listings in advance and store them until you want to use them.

Go to the Site Map,(the link is at the bottom of the page).

Once there go to the:

Sell column.

It's the 6th one down in the Selling Tools column:

eBay Solutions Directory

eBay Stores

Sales Reports

Selling Manager

Selling Manager Pro

Turbo Lister

If you do use Turbolister, go to Tools > Install Complete Version Update before you do anything else. The version you initially get is not usually up to date.

Also ensure you regularly backup and update it. Less hassles that way.

Did that yesterday. Will download it when I get the new computer soon anyway so will do a comlete update then before I use it
