Afterpay as payment option

A buyer has just asked me to 'activate afterpay' as a payment option on my auction listing.

From what I can see I can't activate it and it just applies automatically (I'm not selling an exempt item). I.E I don't opt in or out to afterpay as a payment option.

Can anyone clarify this?

You are correct, it is not your choice.

Not all items or listings qualify for afterpay.

Explain to the potential buyer that eBay and Afterpay decide which listings qualify for that service.

If it is the LV wallet, I seem to qualify for Afterpay on it but I am also a seasoned user of Afterpay.

New Afterpay customers only qualify for items with a price limit.

I remember when I first started using Afterpay, it stated that Afterpay may be available but when I tried it said I was a new user and it exceeded my current limit.
