I received an email from EBay telling me to add tracking numbers, but i do! The problem is I have to do it manually as Australia post only uses QR codes for tracking numbers, why can't we scan QR codes in eBay?

When you scan an Australia Post QR code you will get a number like this:

01993126509999989199703722496401000830907420209992619103908008210115135743

The number you actually need to extract in this example is:

9703722496401000830907

You need a smart QR code scanner with software or a batch file to extract the correct digits to drop into the eBay tracking field.

The other numbers in the string comprise the Australia Post account number of the sender if using MyPost. Plus two numerical numbers which appear to correspond with the sender and receivers address which is extracted from the Australia Post address database.

Once again this is dependent if you use eBay or MyPost labels.

The benefit of accepting the address recommendations is the machine readable numerical address which will sort your item into the correct chutes at the mail centre which assist in faster delivery and less human involvement.
