Apart from the fact that this is a public board and anybody is entitled to give their opinion, I often print A5 sized if I only have one to do and have half an A4 sheet lying around.

They print the same distance from the top as the first of 2, if the paper feeds straight. Which is understandable as the printer doesn't know it's A5.

Just a quick question for those using Click-and-Send, if you have a moment to measure something for me...

When you print your labels (2-per-page), what is the positioning of your labels?

For example: On my HP laser printer, the first label starts 10mm from the top of the page and 18mm in from the side. The second label starts 148mm from the top of the page and 18mm in from the side.

I'm interested in how close these measurements are on other printers (brands, inkjet, laser etc.).

I have absolutely no idea and don't now why it would matter, you get 2 labels on an A4 sheet of paper so why does the positioning matter. I use two different printers and as far as I am aware they look to be in exactly the same position using both.

Cut around them and put them in the pouch.

As long as they are legible then that is all that is needed.

2 per A4 sheet here. No idea about positioning and even less concern.

If you don't want to do it, then don't. And don't reply in this topic if that's the case, unless you're just doing it to see your own inane thoughts on a screen.

I asked a specific question for specific people. I didn't invite opinions on whether I need the information or not.

I'm looking at the consistency of how the labels are printed over various types of printers for a reason.

I haven't measured mine , sorry, but they do come out in the same position on each page, if that is any help?

I have an older and very cheap HP 4 in 1

We also use an old HP deskjet. The position of the labels would depend on your printer preferences. For the Flat Rate boxes and our own packaging we used to use 2 to an A4 page label but now use full page A4 labels and cut them in half so we don't need to worry about the settings.

When set to Print to Fit the margins are 9mm from edge to top label and 150mm to second label. 16mm from the left edge.

When set to Print Actual Size the margins are 8mm to top label and 155mm to second label. 12mm from the left edge.

Thanks -- exactly the type of response I needed!

Interesting about cutting them in half and printing at A5. I hadn't factored in that scenario, actually.

Cheers.

Hi OP, not sure your reason for asking, but if it is to do with saving paper then I get 4 to a page (A4) I save them as pdf to my desktop

then do screenshots and place 4 on the page - print landscape. Still easy to read and actually better fit for the 500g satchels, just my ten cents worth 🙂
