Apologies for reviving this old thread, but it's the only relevant one I could find.

I'm a casual non-store seller, all of $52 gross sales last month, and used to get 8 free relists, but recently noticed by chance this has stopped. This means instead of having an average 100 items listed it will become around a dozen.

I don't use any listing tools, and have nothing new to list atm, I was just trying to relist some unsold items.

eBay sets the rules and i abide by them, but I'd like to add my voice to those who think eBay should advise people about changes that are likely to cause them a detriment.

Like some others here i prefer the old All Selling page, which has all the information I need on one page, and I have it bookmarked for when eBay decides to change it to the new one.

cheers

pursson

I saw the other post, but am not sure when it will start.

We had auctions auto-relist yesterday on a couple of id's without coming off our freebies.

Maybe it's for new listings?

Totally agree that everyone should be made aware of changes like this, though.

Nah, eBay are far too busy posting YouTube videos about how amazingly supportive they are of big time sellers

Now if this had been something likely to have a huge impact on buyers, they would have a full screen, neon sign with gold flashing light globes

At the moment it's not an issue because my auctions aren't on auto relist, because of the $1 weekends, but when the time comes that the $1 weekends stop, how do I find the quick listing tool? I have tried everything and can't find how to use it. In the old days, there was a link at the top of the advanced tool, when it was still 2 pages, but all I have at the top is "customise" "send us your feedback" and "find a product".

Anyone know how to change listing tools?

I just attempted to list something for 3 days and this is what I got:

Automatically relist this item up to 8 times with a 7-day duration if it doesn't sell - it's free to relist. Final value fees apply

I changed it to 10 days:

Automatically relist this item up to 8 times if it doesn't sell - it's free to relist. Final value fees apply

For what it's worth, I think it just might be more gobbledygook that makes no sense (fingers crossed)

If this is the case and the "automatically relist up to 8 times" option is no longer free, it will certainly be game over for eBay, as the whole point of giving non-store sellers a miserable forty free listings per month is for them to sell things without breaking the bank. Although at $1.65 per listing it already does break the bank for any items below $99.

Besides, why would the quick listing tool be free to relist and not the advanced tool when the end result (listing an item) is identical?

The only reason I'm back on the forum today is because eBay decided to throw the new phone-based selling page down my throat once again so I had to manually change it back to the classic All Selling layout for the third time to make it readable on a PC.

If it still says "it's free to relist", make sure to take a screenshot as well as a video showing the listing procedure while submitting it to be listed. eBay will have a nice day in the federal courts of several countries if they try to charge people for free listings. I believe it's called Grand Fraud when it comes to stealing billions of dollars from people worldwide.

Lamps is the correct term.

My first boss told me - globes are for painting pictures of the world on, bulbs are for planting in the ground.

lamp

[lamp]

||

SEE MORE SYNONYMS FOR lamp ON THESAURUS.COM

noun

any of various devices furnishing artificial light, as by electricity or gas.

https://www.dictionary.com/browse/lamp

Oxford dictionary: globe - approximately spherical glass vessel, esp. lampshade or fishbowl. Who cares anyway???

Back on topic...

For anyone who can't find the quick listing tool, if you click on the link in my OP, there's a link to the QLT there.

You don't have to unsubscribe to seller hub if you no longer want to use it, you just click on Opt Out up the top right of the page. Stores can't opt out of SH.

As was said in the second post, it doesn't look like this change has been implemented yet, unless it only applies to new listings, not older ones that are still relisting.

According to e-bay support there is a 'glitch' still that has been 'escalated' and that the text we all see "[ tick] Automatically relist this item up to 8 times if it doesn't sell - it's free to relist. Final value fees apply" is an error. SO WHAT ! as long as this is being shown and the fees shown at the bottom of the screen are $0.00 then you will get a refund on the insertion fees they will charge you, but you need to call and politely point out that the contract offered on the screen assures there are no fees. Yes this is false advertising and yes it's illegal; but who's going to take that on when most of us non-store sellers are doing this for extra cash. This has been going on for over a month now. It absolutely amazes me that eBay choose to cripple our ability to sell. I will list only 40 items a month, with the 8x free listing I have been able to ramp this up every month to as many as 150 items; all of which eBay make a fat % from when they sell. Once above 'glitch' is fixed I will list only 40 items at any one time on eBay. I will use the $1 weekend deals as long as they last (which I guarantee won't be forever) and eBay will be back to making less money from me. Makes no sense at-all ....

Have a think about this...

you have 500 items listed on ebay, then you get hit by a car and are in a coma.

Your 500 items just keep automatically relisting at $1.65 each (minus the 40 free listings), at a cost of $759 a month, after a year of relisting that would amount to $9108, being direct debited out of my bank account.!!!

So I am in a coma and eBay are draining my bank account. I would assume that after a while I would have sold a few things and customers wouldn't have got their items and complained and hopefully my account would get suspended. But that is a scary thought!!

I gave my password and end listing instructions to a friend today. Something to think about for non-store holders.

With that scenario you can be sure ebay would be less than helpful.

There have been 2 instances that I can remember where account holders have "disappeared" and in at least one case the account was selling quite a few items. The negatives built up and built up and ebay did nothing.

Finally the boardies got involved and after a bit of sleuthing the local police followed it up.

I don't remember all the details now but as I said, ebay was not helpful.
