Which photo hosting service do you recomend?

I'm struggling with photobucket since they changed their site completely recently. I'm still using photobucket at the moment but seeking another option if there is good one.

I use eaph.com, it is the sister site to robshelp.com which I use to create my listings. It costs US$8 per month but offers unlimited storage of photos and listing templates.

I still use photobucket syrups, I was having trouble there for a while, where I had to constantly revise ebay listings to get the gallery image to show, but that seems to have corrected itself.

Also you have to make sure the little box at the base of the TL [if you use it] is clicked/ticked...I missed that a few times when Change Photo Hosting..I omitted clicking This Listing Will Have An Image.

Also when clicking for Gallery Image I click URL, not 1st photo.

I have found I cannot use any of photobuckets editing tools, I simply get a grey screen when I click on Edit ... that has been since the last upgrade to the site prior to them changing to Beta this time.

What I would like to know is how to download a free TEMPLATE...ebay's selection in TL as SOOOO boring.

I also use photobucket and hate the new version; it is awful, I cannot see any instructions, and I have not managed to work out how to edit. I am usually OK with new versions, but I only did one listing from the new one, it took me some 3 hours, and although I managed in the end, I have no idea how. Next listing I gave up after 5 minutes and switched to the old version.

I started using PhotoBucket years ago, But seemed to have a few problems.

Thought I would try Imageshack, never EVER had one issue.

Can you not have them hosted by your own ISP? I'm with Optus and I host all of my images on their site.

Nearly all ISPs will provide you with a certain amount of storage on their server at no charge so it's well worth checking with yours if you're not happy with Photobucket (never used it myself). 🙂

For gallery pics, I have them on my computer. On the odd occasion I want to put a pic in the description I use Photobucket.

I always use a pic from my computer for the ebay first photo and gallery, that way if either ebay's service or my hosting site are down there will still be a photo.

For free templates just google or you can find ready made ones that are free to use on the robshelp.com site, you can easily adapt them to how you want them to look or it is easy enough to create your own. You can even store up to 10 on the site free of charge.

Image Shack is ok, organising pictures into folders / sub-folders isn't as easy as Photobucket, but I think they allow bigger image sizes with less compression during uploads.

I still use the old Photobucket as it's the only (free) site I've used so far that makes the direct URL to all images easily accessible. The beta site is the same as all the others I've tried, so getting the URL for images has to be done one at a time and requires at least one extra page load. (Sounds like a minor complaint, probably, but when you want quick and easy access to the URLs of 30+ images, that means minimum of 60 page loads whereas the old Photobucket means only 1 page load).

If anyone knows of another site where the URLs are displayed on the same page, either directly on the page or by hovering over the image, I'd like to know about it too. ;\

I can still edit photos in photobucket (with more time spent than used to) but it doesn't let me organise albums at all. It also doesn't let me drag drop pictures in forum page like before. And it doesn't give me html code by hovering over the image. I have to click through to get the code.

I can't understand why they changed to make everything difficult. They were working perfectly fine before they started to change here and there.

I got so frustrated for last 4 days or so after I discovered the site was completely changed.

But one good thing about it was I found a good photo resizing program which resize all photo in files in a few second. I used to resize photo in photobucket and it took quite a lot of time.

I still use photobucket for my store but I'm thinking about using ImageShack for Caturday pics if it's easy enough to use.

Can you not have them hosted by your own ISP? I'm with Optus and I host all of my images on their site.

I checked my ISP's website and couldn't find anything about photo hosting space. I'm not with major ones like Optus and Telestra. So I don't think they do it.

You could always try tumblr. I have an account there and it looks quite easy to use

I don't do it that way as I always have the boxes showing underneath and that way I can load up to 24 picture in one go if I want to.

I use Photobucket but have the size setting on the camera so I don't have to alter it,(saves a lot of editing).

I've just realised that I can switch back the new photobucket to original one. I didn't see the little writing on the top.

Now my photobucket page looks as same as before the change and all functions I needed came back with it.

My problem is solved.

go-tazz I remember there was a time I could see all link under pictures in albums but it changed to hovering over for the link. I don't know how to make the links visible.

Bring up the dropdown menu on your user name (top right-hand side), and click Account Settings.

The next page will display personal account information, but there is a series of tabs up the top to change settings for various things - click the second one, Album Settings, and you'll be able to select which links are displayed, as well as how (always or on mouse-over).

Photobucket seems to be the most popular with eBay users, as whenever someone links a fullsize pic in their description, it's usually Photobucket.

Alot of people use Auctiva too but those are generally smaller image sizes that link to a bigger image.

ImageShack links fullsize pics and thumbnails too. Thesedays you have to signup but once that's done, you should presumably get all the links you need to just copy & paste.

Go to Album settings and select what you would like your album to show.

Tick Show links in my albums.

Untick Link back to my albums and tick any of the link short cuts you would like to appear on you album,(HTML thumb is the one you need for eBay,but you can tick as many as you want).

You also have an option in your Album settings that will resize your photos on uploading.

Whilst in the Album settings go to Upload options and click on the View upload options.

Then select the size you want the pictures at, 😄

I've never used that option so don't know how well it works,?:|
