So with the new managed payments, you need a valid form of photo ID. I do not have a valid passport or drivers license. I only have a passport that’s expired, student ID Or my birth certificate.
I told the person who was trying to assist me on chat and all they had to say was “renew your passport or get a drivers license” both of which take a fairly long time to do in australia and takes $$$.
so what happens from here? I can’t find a number to call or anyone to help me. I have money that is available to be withdrawn But isn’t due to this.

You need to get an 18+ Card ifrom the DMV in whichever state you live

What state do you live in?

I do not know who is telling you that you can't use a Proof of Age card becuase in most states you can AFAIK.

When entering the number make sure it is the 'PC Number' on the card as it is exactly like the format of a DL

number.

this is the card I uploaded to them just the front minus my numbers for a bit of privacy. and they rejected it?!?! it was done in QLD

It is the numbers they need for verification - load the id with no blockouts - they can be trused to keep the information safe, millions of sellers have provided id this way.

In South Australia, if you have had a SA Drivers License at any time prior, DMV will use that number, or if not, they will assign a Number for you, number for example K5281 is put on your Proof of Age Card. This is a Legal Government issued Card with the Coat of Arms for your State that you are living in. l should know,l have one. ( from an old timer).

The wife is in the same boat as many here. Lives in S.A. never held a drivers licence and long expired passport. She has held a valid photographic proof of age card for years.

Initially managed payments listed " other photographic government identification " as an option for managed payments. This option is no longer available. Wife uploaded her proof of age card and it was accepted for 6 - 8 weeks, then later rejected.

She had to apply for a new passport and upload those details. It was either that or stop selling on ebay. The only consolation.... With COVID passport application turn around times are much shorter than normal. Around two weeks for the wife.

I did it without blackouts. i just did it on here on this forum so everyone doesnt see my details. its still being rejected. stupid stupid annoying system. an what happens for some reason I get blocked from buying and selling on ebay which I have in the past. now im banned forever?????????????? i just put a listing and a picture of box on ebay. I am selling this box cause its rare. like other rare boxes. SO THEY TAKE IT DOWN because its not a physical item??????? what is this stupid stupid platform i cant do anything. are these bots scanning the site or is someone opening the eyes and LOOKING. so peeved off. i like how they can take my money to pay their fees with one click but if im to get paid "we have to see if it the right person". what about he right person to pay the fees???? WOW ebay is WOW.

My photo ID is still being rejected..... basically have $7 of money from sales that Ill never get so far cause of this stupid system.

refunded a guy because its been over 21 days. no money from ebay. so ebay doesnt get to keep it i just give it back to the buyer. now I only able to get $3.40. thanks again ebay 😡😡😡😡😡😡

I've just finished sorting this out. What a nightmare.

If no Drivers Licence or passport you need Keypass (Auspost) + Birth Certificate.

Proof of Age (GOV ID) did not work.

Listed it as other Identification and then sat on the help chat immediately to confirm it was received.

Australia Post dont state in their blurb that the Keypass is suitable id to open a bank account ( which is what people are having trouble with regards managed payments ) . It will be interesting to see if this form of id sticks or is later rejected.

In my state mine does not have a pc number only a customer no. and i put that in and it doesn't work. It doesn't have an expire date either.

Kinda bull**bleep** imo until they fix the system and except more forms id there's not much you can do. Really they should except birth certificates and Medicare cards also etc.

I am in a similar position. I have traded on Ebay for over 16 years with no problems. No with the new owners they suddenly want my photo ID. I refuse in this age of identity theft to offer this. They have held my funds for over 6 months. They have also blocked me trading , not that I want to as I won't receive the funds. This is ethically wrong as a long term trader and I am spreading the word about this threat and telling them to use Gumtree.
