About Privacy concerns did anyone know that a Buyers Phone number is showing on those New Labels.

How good is this, as a Protected Insurance Option for a Seller with Australian Post is not option with an eBay with parcel post Postage Label for Australian Post.
Collecting many of those labels and all have Phone numbers on it from Buyers.
Not that I am using them but buyers do not like this I think as many are private.

Simple, don't buy eBay labels. MyPost Business is generally cheaper. eBay are even pushing it.

If the buyer has a MyPost account, they will only receive tracking updates/delivery notifications if the sender either provides a phone number or an email address.

How many buyers have complained? Or are you just assuming they don't want their phone number on the label?

So do I. Given my PO Box is 10km away from my normal haunts, it's good to not make unnecessary trips.

You are correct.

I just looked at the last parcel I received and nary a phone number. Presumably it's contained in the QR/barcode.

I may not be correct but I think the number on the label may only be for calling the receiver if needed. There is a separate section when making the label to add sms notification for mypost labels. E-parcel maybe different.

The phone number is in the system, so any SMS updates will still occur, but if you don't want it to be visible for the average half a second most AP staff take to handle a package when processing it, you can just manually redact it.

@dave - has your PO given you the info for Mail2Day? It should be free with your box (used to cost extra) and sends you alerts either by email or SMS when your PO box has mail to collect, even a standard, untracked letter. Yes, when a seller prints an Aust Post label, the phone number is on the label.

If the buyer does not want this to happen, there is an option in his buying preferences to conceal his number.

So it is up to the buyer. As has been pointed out, probably the OP has not received any complaint from a buyer?

Why is everyone so paranoid? What difference does it make? What can giving out a phone number do? An Aust Post employer might read it? My phone number is in the telephone book for anyone to look up.

Not that I'm aware of. I've had unnotified letters sit there for weeks because I didn't know or forgot (my DL renewal) they were coming.

Never had a complaint printing buyers number on label. If anything it can help delivery if the address is vague or wrong and handy if the buyer has a wolf hound, crocodile farm or the driver is new or 'lost in space'...

Buyers can list numbers in both registered and delivery addresses in their accounts and if a landline turns up on the eBay/MyPost import order, we change it to their mobile so they receive SMS notifications. Handy if the contractor drops it in a wayward location, the addressee can then hunt it down.
