what is easiest way to refund a buyer when the transaction does not appear on PayPal ?

Go to orders, locate the order you wish to refund and click on the order number. From the drop down menu to the right of screen, select send refund.

Why do you need to refund?

There has been no Paypal for sellers since July 2020.

Are you signed up and fully ID and bank verified (via Passport or Drivers Licence) for the new Managed Payments system?

In general, as an infrequent seller, your funds will sit as "Pending" in the Seller Hub until you are verified, and even then, there will be a 21-30 day hold until they are released to your bank.

However, this does not stop you from cancelling and refunding the transaction.

You can use the reason "problem with buyers address", so you don't incur a defect.

Please have a read of the seller guide, so that you know what to expect going forward as there were numerous emails about the change, as well as information on the log in screens etc about the update.

the cost of delivery was more than expected, and the buyer asked me to cancel the order. However I received an amount although the transaction was cancelled.
