Sellers do not set the EDD. It’s eBay who come up with the estimated delivery range of dates, often flying in the face of common sense.

It is not necessarily that eBay executives are sitting in a conference room, laughing manically as they come up with unrealistic timeframes for delivery. (Buy it today, get it yesterday?) Rather, to my mind it appears to be glitch-ridden coding.

However, at heart that is indeed the fault of those who manage/run eBay. Poor executive decisions have a flow-down effect. If the IT department is creating errors and nonfunctional commands in the website, it is up to management to fix the human / departmental problem.

Not only that… but - as much as the government and much of the population would like to think that the pandemic had gone away and COVID-19 is no longer a factor against which to be protected and which continues to affect supply and processing times - it isn’t true. There are delays and problems and lacks, and I don’t see it being resolved to pre-pandemic levels for some time to come.

Just so sellers know, I find 99% of international items take about 3 - 4 weeks to get processed through delivery to NSW Australia. This is affecting your estimated time of arrival dramatically.

I live in NSW too. Items from the UK sent with Royal Mail usually arrive quickly (in a week-10 days!), well before the estimated delivery.

Items from other countries have arrived very close to the last day of the estimated delivery, but still on time.

I only send a few a month if I'm lucky and have noticed August was around 2 days before departure, then 8 in September. Nothing yet this month and can only guess it is getting worse.

From personal experience... One parcel from Leipzig took 36 days to be delivered just recently, and another parcel from the same seller (replacement for one smashed item) took 14 days. The delay was caused byr the first parcel sitting at Frankfurt, cleared and awaiting international departure for about a month, and similar delays would be occurring at international airports almost everywhere.
