I checked out your feedback left for others.

Are you aware you left positive feedback for one seller but the comment said they were 'bloody idiots and your second scammer'. You said that same thing about another seller but at least that was recorded as neg feedback.

You'd be better saying exactly what went wrong.

It's all very well quoting bits to us about greed being a sin etc but ebay is a business. Money itself is not evil and I don't feel ebay sets out deliberately to encourage scammers. Surely you would agree that for sin to be present, there has to be intent?

That is not to say there are no scammers on ebay or that ebay could not do a better job at times but things have tightend up a lot over the last few years and as a buyer, you should be able to get a refund if items are not as described.

I'd be interested to know your definition of a scammer too. To me, it would be a seller who doesn't send the items or who deliberately sends fake items, that sort of thing.

There are other times where you might buy something and it is sent quickly but the item might not be as good as you were expecting. That's not necessarily a scammer.

there are hundreds of sellers that are scammers, how is it that ebay can not read between the lines until its too late. Its ebay that are the scammers! As long as ebay get their money from the buyer and runs through an ebay account, it just an easy way of money laundering really. food for thought

Buyers have a lot more protection than sellers do on eBay, but you still need to do your due diligence when buying.

1. Check the seller's feedback to see where they are registered, and if their feedback is under 99.5% for a high-volume seller be wary about dealing with them.

2. If things go wrong use the MBG in the first instance to get your money back.

3. If the seller tries to stall you or try to get you to close a dispute before they will issue a refund, ignore them and ask eBay to step in.

All the power is in your hands as a buyer IF you use the tools that eBay provides you with.

Caveat Emptor.

Do you check feedback before buying

Do you use the tools all buyers are given and open the appropriate dispute

Do you report these items/sellers

Do you leg neg feedback where deserved

You have been on eBay since 2007, there is no excuse to have no idea of basics like this

You can see who you are buying from up front, and you can choose to not support scammers

ebay do not vet listings

buyers always have the choice who they buy from
