Australia Post Lost Mail Before Xmass Anyone ?

Did anyone else have problems with late mail before xmass by Australia Post ?

Nov - Dec 2012 will go down the worst for us. Australia Post failed to deliver our mail from the 30th Nov, 3rd Dec, 6th Dec, 8th Dec, and 10th Dec before christmas.

it is only now that mail from the 30th Nov is arriving to people, yet mail onwards from the 11th of Dec has already arrived.

yes, I am still awaiting some parcels. I was a good boy all year and Santa must have used Australia Post as I did not get anywhere near as many pressies as I expected. So, it must be Aust Post at fault. 😄

I was pleasantly surprised just how quickly my click & send parcels were being delivered in December, even ones posted on the Thursday before were delivered in time.

Yes I posted mail at end of November registered amd guess what it has gone missing good old Australia Post when I key in number it says no event currently found .Aust Post main office are blaming my local PO said it has not been scanned rubbish it was I watched .

And an item I brought in Dec has not arrived .

Aust Post need to start getting things right I know a lot on here will say they do a good job with the amount of mail they handle well in my books they need to do a lot more .

I feel the contractors need a police check lets face it they are handling a lot of big $ items now .

Postal costs are going up but not the service it is getting worse .

So I am having some problems. I reside in Brisbane and the seller of the item I purchased lives in Sydney. They have not replied to my emails regarding the recipt details from Aus Post. As I am a relitivley new Ebayer, I was unaware that you have to request tracking numbers. Apparently the item was handed into the post office on the 20th of Dec (Thursday) and it still hasnt arrived yet. I also paid for express shippiong (5-8 days). As Sydney and Brisbane arnt really that far from eachother I am starting to worry about my purchase. And as I dont have the tracking number, I cant really contact Aus post to enquire where it currently is. Any help or insight would be much appreciated 😞

Open an Item Not Received case. The seller will have to prove that they sent by acceptable (to Paypal) means, which express generally isn't, otherwise Paypal will refund you. You did pay by Paypal, I hope?

Express should have got to you on 21 Dec.

Initially I did. But apparently they had a grand in there already and there limit was breached. The payment would have taken 100+ days to clear, so we organised to make a bank deposit. I assume this was a mistake. Is there anything I can do? Can Aus post tell me where the item is in transit (if it is) if I prove that I bought the item?

I'm sorry, but it really looks you have been scammed. A high priced item ($2,500) paid by bank deposit to an eBayer with little or no feedback because their PayPal was full = SCAM

The best you can probably do is report this to the Qld Police who handle 'online fraud' from all Australian states apparently. Someone else will come along and give you the web address.

Perhaps the best advice I can give you, and I will probably get a slap from eBay for saying this (as well as this post being removed), is always buy those high priced electrical goods from a real store where you get served over the counter. You get all the paperwork for warranty AND if something goes wrong with the item you take it back to the store.

without a tracking number the answer is NO. You may be able to prove you paid money to someone by bank deposit and show them the eBay listing but this means nothing to Australia Post.
