Hi I have sold a bike on here I accidentally hit the button saying I’ve received payment when I haven’t and the buyer is giving me the run around he is saying he has payed but I have not seen any money in my account he sent me some stupid QR code saying if I scan it the money will be transferred but when I scan it it just takes me back to the add . What do I do??

Do you have a message from ebay telling you the item has been paid for, what does it say in your payments tab, in all likely hood your funds are on hold. As for the stupid QR code, you are going to need to know what to do with it when it comes time to release the goods, if you ever manage to get that far. Hardly the buyer giving you the run around.

Have you fully completed the sign up for managed payments, if not you will never get the $'s, until you do, as Ebay will hold it till they have a verified account to send it to.

Even if you are sign up for managed payments, as a new seller you will have a 30 day hold on the funds for security.

Your email from Ebay will say if they (buyer) have paid or not. If the email says they have paid, don't give them the run around and hand over the bike.

I don't sell any longer but I think the buyer is wrong about the QR code. It won't transfer any money to you.

I looked up your sold items and they are not just small items, we are talking hundreds of dollars.

I noticed you asked for cash on pick up. It is a shame the buyer didn't adhere to this as it would all have been easier for you.

But buyers are allowed to pay eg via paypal as well as far as I know. You can't limit payment to just cash although it is allowd as one option.

However, the payment a buyer makes does not go to you, it goes direct to ebay.

Because you are a new seller, those funds won't be released for 30 days as a security measure.

Those funds won't be released even then unless you have signed up properly for managed payments and been verified.

If you have not completed all the steps for that, you better get it done today, right now.

Once you are signed up, it doesn't mean that because you have a 30 day hold on youir money, that you don't release your goods for 30 days. You'll need to check your ebay account to see if the buyer has paid and if they have, you need to allow pick up. You'll need to scan that QR code at pick up, as far as I understand it. It is to verify the buyer has picked up. That way they can't claim a refund on the basis they don't have the item.

But double check your managed payments account and the the payment status and go from there.

Until you have it sorted, it might be a good idea to delete any ads that are still open as you won't see the money till managed payments is in place.

Proof of pickup is required to protect you against item not received cases.

For proof of pickup you can:

Use the eBay app to scan the QR code the buyer received through email
Use the eBay app to manually enter the 6-digit code the buyer received through email

To scan the QR code:

Go to Selling on the eBay App.
Go to the Sold tab.
Select the Arrange Pickup banner.
Tap the Scan to confirm pickup button.

You are going to have the same issues with the truck if you don't read the links other members have given you and learn what you are doing

If you don't want to have to deal with 'some stupid QR code' then don't sell items that are to be picked up

Because you will have to use the said 'stupid QR code' every time

Don't blame the buyer when you don't know your obligations as a seller
