I just had a quick look up on ebay.

Not very flattering image of Kate, I didn't think.

But the price for this rare coin (so all the ads say) varies from about $1 (with $1.99 postage) up to about $6 or so for one from a mint roll.

If yours is a circulated coin, I guess it could be worth a little more than the 20c face value, but not a fortune more.

But collecting special coins can be fun, so why not keep it?

Here we go again, calling a not so rare coin, rare just to try to suck the punters in. It had a mintage of 10.1 Million coins.

Now if you had the 50 cent piece maybe you could at least attempt to say rare, but why encourage the rip off merchants.

Yes, I thought the same. That is why I put rare in italics. I didn't realise there were 10 mill of them minted though. That's hardly rare. Even on ebay, there are several available, they aren't hard to get if someone is after one.

But I know a lot of people like to collect the coins that mark special occasions.

20 cent coin which is common as ditch water is not worth more than 20 cents

But by all means, list on eBay if you wish
