Dishonest buyers..

A note to new sellers in regards to dishonest buyers , when it comes to items that is posted out untracked and in some cases where the item has been sent out with tracking , a buyer receives the item then makes a claim that the buyer has not received the item , ebay gives the dishonest buyer a refund and you as a seller has no say and has lost money , it is as easy as that and thats what goes on.

Been that way forever (or since eBay was a thing in this case)

If a seller cannot prove (through tracking) the item was posted/delivered and the buyer says it wasn't, eBay will always side with the buyer every single time

Not sure how you managed to send the item in question without tracking, they certainly are not a 'letter' and it looks like the buyer in this case took full advantage of that

There are enough scammer buyers without making things even easily for them

Or the expense of metal being sent as a letter and damaging AP equipment

Ah can you clarify something for me, if you sent it untracked, how do you know the buyer received it, sounds like a dodgy statement.

Yes, it does sometimes happen.

I don't think most buyers are dishonest but it is a risk a seller takes if they send something untracked.

If it is an item of any value, worth the extra to send tracked.

Just a quick note. I saw that you have 2 negatives.

The most recent one has a red dot but says 'Awesome seller'.

That is a contradiction and is pulling your feedback rating down.

If I were you, I would contact ebay chat and ask that it be removed. The first rep may not oblige but ask to speak to a supervisor or whatever. Persist. politely.

If it fails, put in an appeal.

I have a friend who was in exactly the same position. He protested, got nowhere, then appealed and the next rep saw sense and it was removed.
