Sold the boots. Buyer paid via Ebay. Buyer picked up goods and was very happy. Funds on hold with a message about scanning the ebay app. I don't have an ebay app. What is this about?

The QR code that is required to be scanned for pick up items

Been a 'thing' for some time now

Plus your funds will be on hold anyway since you are a new/infrequent seller , as per eBay policy

An the buyer has not left you feedback

How do you intend to prove they picked up the boots if they open an item not received dispute?

Absolutely no idea. I contacted customer support and spoke to a real person and she was very helpful. I now need to contact the buyer. Gumtree and Facebook looking good right now for my other stuff

Hopefully she gave you the correct information, and not just the standard 'tell the person what they want to hear' answer from their script which is what the majority of people are given

Not sure the risk of selling on Gumtree and Facebook will be any easier than doing what is required of eBay sellers, but whatever suits you
