Someone has bought my item but postage costs needed to be confirmed. The amount they paid for postage was incorrect and it will be additional money. How can they pay the difference

$18.95 to me in Central West NSW.

The OP listed as pick up but also postage as above.

They also stated can be shipped at extra cost.

Too confusing for me.

We'll probably never know if the OP seagulls.

You have set the postage cost - doesn't matter what you have added to the description.

Wear it.

You must have opted for calculated shipping via ebay labels, postage is calculated on your input + destination.

The buyer has paid and you are not entitled to any extra payment.

Your set postage over rides anything contrary in the item description.

I would not dare ask the buyer for more money. This is very bad form. If you have underestimated postage costs then wear it. Listings all state that the Seller is responsible for the listing. I had one recently where I underestimated the weight (it is sometimes difficult to know the final weight until the item is packed) and I just paid the extra $8 myself, I did not mention anything to the buyer.

That postage cost was set up by you

You cannot ask/expect the buyer to pay out more than what you stated

And you risk getting a neg if you do

They won't.

Buyers pay whatever the postage cost or overall cost comes up as in the ad.

Asking for more after a sale is dodgy.

Fact is, a buyer will look at the total cost of an item and make a decision, based on that, if they are willing to buy or not. If you suddenly up the postage by a significant amount (and I presume it must be a significant amount, because you probably wouldn't be worrying about it if we were only talking eg 50c), then a buyer would probably feel that they may not have bought it had they known it was going to be that dear.

That's how I would feel, anyway. I'd be disgruntled. It's not how ebay works.

So you, as seller, have a decision to make. You can either post the item and pay the difference or else you can cancel the sale and refund. If you do the latter, maybe contact the buyer, admit to making a mistake and apologise but say you needed to cancel.

As sellers can choose AP even if buying and printing labels through eBay, dadztcgstore, that is not correct information. If they’ve opted for AP as their postage method, of course they should be handing parcels over the counter at their nearest AP.

Sellers can also choose to pay AP directly (or a courier if they’ve decided to use a courier). Using AP MyPost Business will allow the seller to print labels and also offers significant savings according to which tier is applicable, so at worst it’s no more expensive and at best it’s quite a bit cheaper.
