I sold three items. eBay deposited money in my account which is, minus their fees, but includes the cost of the three postage labels.

The following day, they deduct the cost of the labels from my account.

I wish they would just take ALL costs before forwarding the money to me.

Do any of you seasoned sellers know of any solution to this problem?

The money was sent to my account as soon as I posted the items. I was wondering if I opted to be paid weekly and not so quickly it would be any solution, or would further sales still end up in the same mess?

What others?

I use MyPost Business and don't pay more than eBay Labels, and normally less. Noting that eBay would be getting Band 5 from AP and give none of their discount to their sellers. I choose to not add to their bottom line more than I have to.

Have you looked into the options and savings?

You can join MyPost Business and pay online, print the labels, integrate with eBay, etc. The tiered discounts will save you money, and you can even arrange to have your parcels collected if dropping them off is not possible as either a one-off or on an ongoing basis.

https://auspost.com.au/business/shipping/mypost-business

You buy and print your labels online, then drop them off. Whether you choose not to post over the counter would be your choice, but irrelevant comparing AP labels to eBay AP labels.

Sorry, but I don't hand money over the counter - just parcels with prepaid postage attached.

I don't know how you conduct your business, but if you're tossing cash over the counter, you're leaking funds unnecessarily.

Obviously that's your choice entirely... do as you wish.

Ummm, what exactly are you on about? I didn't mention creating any problems, and gave no advice that would create any problems.

Please explain to everyone exactly what problems you mistakenly think are created by NOT using eBay labels. I haven't found any yet, but I'd really like to know what problems I'm creating for myself - as I'm sure others would too.

I'm a bit befuddled when trying to work out exactly what response you expected, but you actually asked for a solution and I provided the perfect solution. What more do you want?

I use Australia Post and print the labels directly form eBay. I could go into my email address and print the labels from there and get a discount, (click on links, yeah sure if you don't mind the risk) but I just prefer to be able to do it all via eBay, so easy. What problems would it create to just pay for postage over the counter, Well firstly, I have a number of people who will drop parcels into the Post Office for me, and if I paid for each one at the Post Office, then I would have to drive there myself and post them myself, so that I can make sure they weigh them correctly, seeing as one Post Office is spot on to my weights, and the other often weighs all parcels as 30grams higher. The one that is spot on is much further away, but the other they don't weigh or question if the label is attached. My scales are checked regularly and are spot on. I don't want to get into an argument with them. Also, posting over the counter, you have to make sure that you can identify which receipt belongs to which parcel, so that you can come home and manually upload the correct tracking numbers (what a pain for someone with impaired eyesight like me) Also it takes much longer at the post office for all this mucking around. I would still have to print the name and address to put on the parcel, but no proof I have correctly addressed it unless I take a photo of it. Open "my business account" well for a start I am not a business just a person selling personal possessions, and would not sell enough to qualify for pickups or bulk discounts. Some of the answers here do not relate to what I have asked. I am asking is there any way to get ebay to deduct the cost of the postage labels before paying me. I am not interested in piddly little discounts and the hassle of signing up for a business account with the post office, just want things nice and simple and easy as possible. I thought there would be at least one person here who would have a solution.

3 items.

Not sure what the problem is here - handing 3 items over the counter - paying - getting tracking - each listed on the receipt with a postcode - destination.

A trip to the post office anyway - by anyone - if you trust someone enough to do the posting - get a card especially to use for this purpose.

Too many - far too many problems with eBay postage - just look at all those now having to pay since last October - because Ebay makes mistakes.

And with 10 items listed I wouldn't be too worried about trips to the PO.

I have no idea why you think that I was posting from your account.... but as you can clearly see for yourself in the attached screenshot, it was actually your account which mentioned paying over the counter. That's not something I do, and I would certainly never advise anyone else to do it, either.

If you bother to investigate the solutions you've been given, you will see they provide exactly what you're asking for...

With a MyPost Business account, you create a postage label the same as you would on eBay. You pay for it, print it and stick it on the parcel - the same as you would with an eBay label. Then you drop the parcels at the PO - or even in a red AP box if you like... so that's not an issue for you.

It makes absolutely no difference if you input the parcel size and weight into your listing or into the AP website or app... you're still liable for any miscalculations just the same either way - so that's not an issue for you.

There is no minimum sending amount, and no requirement to enter into a contract with AP - so that's not an issue for you.

If you're worried about keystroke errors when uploading tracking, you can integrate with eBay and the tracking is uploaded immediately upon payment - so that's not an issue for you.

It's totally free to set up and uses the same login details as your MyPost account. To be honest, I really don't understand your reluctance to even consider the pertinent advice you have already received.

Sounds like you have your payouts set at daily? If you change it to weekly then most of your postage costs will have been deducted.

I get your annoyance - eBay can take your money instantly when it wants, no reason why they can't do it with the shipping costs.
