I am unable to download the ebay app to scan a QR code for an item I've just sold. Are there alternatives?

Yes. You don't need to scan the QR code... just input the numbers manually

Or you can ask the buyer to sign a copy of the order form at the time of pick up.

If the buyer's paying cash, you don't need the QR code.

If the buyer's paid by one of eBay's safe payment options, the proof of pick up is to protect you against an 'item not received' claim.

Just to add to the other replies, if you’re wanting the item to show as collected don’t doesn’t sit in your awaiting collection/awaiting postage, you can contact eBay on live chat and they can mark it as collected for you on their end. I did that a couple of weeks ago when buyer collected but didn’t have their phone on them to provide code.
