OP, if you do not know the FVF (Final Value Fee), in my opinion you’re not ready to sell.

Please, for your own sake, you need to be aware of the fees. Selling on eBay is not free. Listing is free but when you sell, you’ll be charged.

Promotions will cost you in addition to the FVF.

You can offer free postage on your listing but you’ll still be charged for the postage cost. You can pay AP separately (by far the cheapest option when sending by Australia Post, if you use MyPost which integrates with your eBay account - google MyPost Business) or you can pay for the label in eBay (and eBay will charge you)…

And yes, if you want the buyer to pay for the postage (which is only to be expected, one way or the other), that will also be charged in the FVF.

See https://www.ebay.com.au/help/selling/fees-credits-invoices/selling-fees-without-ebay-store?id=4822

I really suggest you sit down and work out what fees you’ll be charged, your costs for the items, costs for packing materials, with what margin you’ll end up… and whether there is any profit in it, taking into account your time and effort. Make sure the game is worth the candle; you shouldn’t be working for nothing.

Good luck.

I had a quick look (so it should show a couple of views now😁)

All I can think of is it may be the category plus the specific items. The photos look good, very clear. Not a lot of description but I think the main thing is someone has to be interested in the book topics/authors you have advertised.

You may just have to be patient.

If I had to guess, I'd say the Donna Hay and Jamie Oliver books are in with a good chance, they are popular names. Plus Gordon Ramsey and Enid Blyton.

People sometimes search with key words, I know I do. Whether many people are looking for eg Australian methods of construction though, I don't know. You will need to wait till the right person comes along.

I am not sure having a shop would help. Once you have a few sales and some feedback, that might help.

Quite possibly a lot of people have scrolled past your items, just not opened them to specifically 'look'.

Hang in there.

I think it might be the category that is the problem. If I was searching, for example, for a Donna Hay book, I would be looking in the "book category".

Also, as first time sellers are usually asked here.....are you properly signed up as a seller? And are you aware that when you do make a sale, eBay may (probably will) hold the funds for up to 30 days?

As everyone else has suggested, the fact that these are all listed in a totally wrong category is not helping you. As you have no bids I would suggest that you end all the items. You will not lose the listings - they will be in your Unsold Not Re-listed under Listings - Overview - Seller Hub. Then you can go through and amend each listing as appropriate under the Books category. You will need to do this individually as there will be different required Item Specifics for each listing. I am guessing that you have done your homework and priced competitively taking postage costs into account. I don't sell or buy in the (new) (newish) Books category so can't give any useful advice there, except to say that almost everything seems to sell as BIN or Best Offer - so listing as auction may be counter-productive. Good luck.

Well as a buyer it drives me nuts when you just put "Enid Blyton" for example. Are they paperbacks or hardcovers? What are the titles?

The best tip I can give you is to make full use of the title - add as many keywords as you can that will attract buyers. "Enid Blyton 3 books paperbacks Enchanted Wood, Faraway Tree, Wishing Chair"

After you correct the category of course, and fill in specifics - you must be getting upteen notices from ebay about how you need to fill in more specifics.

There are no Items Specifics Required for Other Antiques - possibly why OP listed there in the first place. Of course there will be once the items are listed in the correct Books category; and they will be different item specifics for each listing, which is why I suggested ending the listings and revising each one separately. Very good advice about using all possible keywords in the title - so many people only read the title these days.

To add, Jamie Oliver cookbooks are hardly antique.

There IS in Books an Antiquarian and Collectible sub-category.

I, as a book seller, would recommend listing books in Books and use the genres and topics available there.

And not be fooled by ISBN defaults that categorise books as 'Adult Learning' or 'Audio Books' when they clearly aren't.

I pay attention to detail, so my listings are as relevant as I can make them. I consider the time and effort I expend is reclaimed from the sales.

Like others have said, if I'm looking for a book I look in books.

While other posters have identified a major problem with your categories, the biggest problem you will have ( once you get the categories sorted ) is the actual books you are selling. They are all generic stuff that is available in any Op shop or garage sale for a few dollars. ( maybe that is where you are buying them ) There are millions of books listed on ebay. A search for " Donna Hay " shows over 3200 listings with only 182 sold in the last 90 days. When selling into a saturated market you need to find unique or rare items that are not in competition with thousands of other sellers.

I sell books and the only ones I might even vaguely consider selling out of your listings is the indigenous biographies. They are specialised, but even with these there may be quite a number for sale as they are recent printings.. Only around 1 in 80 - 100 books has any real value and probably only 1 in 1000 is worth more than $50. You need to research what books are valuable and try to find and sell these. A great way to do this is to do an advanced ebay search on sold books over $40. ( Use the " advanced' icon next to search bar at top of most pages ) You will soon start to see a trend with specific subjects and types of books that have genuine value.

Basically your main task is learning how to identify and find the rare stuff. Its out there, but not in Op shops at a price you can make a profit on. Most Op shops have people who are invited out the back to buy the rare stuff, or they sell it online or through dealers themselves.
