That is an ironic comment

You are the only one attacking here and being emotional

Or do you think because someone actually knows what the policy is, then that means they agree with it

FYI, I did not report anything listed by the OP

But since the OP believes the policy should not apply to them, they are free to report the others

Give the policy a read sometime, rather than attacking someone for giving a factual response

Offensive materials policy | eBay

Why did Ebay remove my listing of a vintage cast iron "greedy boy" money box citing it as breaching the "offensive items' policy . and yet they left four other listings for identical or very similar 'greedy boy' money boxes. Inconsistent and unfair!!!!!

Apparently caricatures of black faces are offensive while if you search Ebay for "Caricatures", pages of often unflattering caricatures of sports people, media personalities and other characters are listed...... Are these OK? and is this just crazy P C ???

it might come down to a word, or words, you used in the listing title that triggered the eBay compliance bots.

It might be a regional thing i.e. not allowed in some countries.

Hey, it's eBay, it's not perfect and they do get some things wrong.

Ebay are absurd. They removed a purse because it was made of kangaroo fur. Search kangaroo fur on ebay and see exactly how many listings there are....... When I asked them why they removed it they said because it was made of kangaroo fur. The fact that there are thousands upon thousands of kangaroo fur products on ebay clearly doesn't make a difference to their logic. They said I should report them if I wanted them removed. I have no interest in removing anything from ebay. If people want to buy something, then I see no reason why they shouldn't if the laws allow it to be bought and sold.

eBay don't do the 'other sellers do it so why can't I' thing

You would need to ask them why

Correct, 'black face' is offensive

You could report the other listings

Nobody likes dobbers. Offence is all in your mind and there is absolutely no reason why other people shouldn't be able to buy something just because you cant get over your emotions.

sandypebbles isn’t stating personal opinion so much as stating what eBay seem to be offensive. Largely that’s driven by either popular opinion or by a prevalent view taken by an authority – and sometimes it’s a legal position.

On eBay, eBay decides, and that’s just how it is. Anyone can personally agree or disagree; it won’t make a nit’s wee’s worth of difference to the policy or its implementation. If a listing in breach of the policy is reported, that’s it. (And if some listings get away with breaching the policy, they’ve probably not been reported, or they are Chinese seller listings, or eBay’s sou-disant AI can’t detect an issue. All hail AI.)
