Free selling / Pro Starter

Hi All,

Ok, I am confused, maybe.

I have been moved to the Pro Starter plan but I am also eligible for the free selling. I have read the bits & pieces from EBay about all of this.

I sell a variety of stuff, at various pricing ($10 to $50 generally) & use my own packaging (boxes) or Aust Post satchels (not pre-paid). I don't use EBay labels.

Free selling sounds great, but I have to use EBay labels & I can't sell anything under $20. Is this correct ?

Can I / should I have 2 accounts - 1 for free selling & 1 as Pro Starter ?

Or do I just stay on Pro Starter & suck up the fees as I have been doing.
It is all very silly if you ask me.

Yes, you can sell stuff under $20….use envelopes too; they don’t require a label. I wonder if a buyer ‘bulks up’ and takes you over $20, what will happen then ??

I am in a similar situation to you .. and sell a variety of stuff which was all mine as I am destashing hobbies and items I dont use .. like you, I use my own packaging and many items will go as normal untracked post which ebay does not seem to cover .. I think I read somewhere in one of their posts that if item is under $20 (and presume this would be total of item plus post) then it was not mandated to use Ebay labels ..but I am unsure .. I also liked to revert to the old ebay format for sending as I find this better than the new one but it seems the ability to change to the old format has been eliminated ..

I don't like to use envelopes because once you put your item in it, it can only be so thick.

Sorry, but your posts are confusing .

eBay labels are not compulsory on a Pro Starter plan and they're not compulsory on a Free Selling plan for items under $20

So I realise today that I have been pushed automatically onto the Pro plan and cannot cancel or downgrade onto the free selling plan, even though my sales do not exceed $25,000 for the previous year. So if I want to use an API for listing, such as Sixbit, I now have to pay to EBay $27.45 monthly, in addition to final value fees to EBay, as well as API subscription fees. Why are API use not included in the Pro Starter plan?
This is such an oversight and greedy grab on eBay’s part, that after 25 years selling, I am ready to walk. To introduce this at a time when APIs are pricey with the closing of Inkfrog. eBay Australia does not have inventory management like it does in overseas sites and removed Turbo Lister, meaning EBay have no interest in helping their loyal sellers, only trying to attract new sellers. Terrible system with no support to loyal sellers that sell in smaller quantities but still require inventory management.
