Buyers not leaving feedback

For the last few months or so in all my 8 years on ebay, i have never seen so many buyers not leaving feedback, has anyone else notice this or happens to them alot?

Feedback is voluntary.

When ebay was newer, many were keen to follow instructions on proper ways to do things. Now, I think there are more dabblers and every Tom, Dick and Sally getting on the internet to make purchases.

However, no feedback = happy buyer.

Keep in mind many leave feedback after they receive the reminder at 30 days after the sale. 😉

you have left 2264and received 2200.... that is way above the ebay average for f/b

and as p-j said.. how many more do you want and what will you do with them?

I remember one seller saying here on the boards that they put their feedback score onto thier job resume. That was a different use for feedback. But weren't they devastated when they got their first negative!

As far as seller feedback goes, I can understand the OPs concern. The more positives, the less impact a neg will have. The more DSRs left, the less impact 1 or 2 stars will have. As there are sanctions if too many low DSRs are received, and these are partly % based, then continued feedback from buyers IS important, as you sellers should know.

Im really hoping to recieve some more feedback from my recent sales as I want to get my numbers up. But I can remember back to when i was just a buyer, what a pain it was for me to leave feedback- im naturally a non-communicator lol, which ill have to improve on if i want to be a good seller. In the end, buyers just dont realize how important feedback is to the seller unless they have sold something themselves. In fact I didnt even know you got feedback as a buyer untill just a few months ago, I had just never ever looked. Ive been wondering myself if there is graceful way of saying how much you appreciate feedback, a little blurb that you could put somewhere on your listing where they will see it.

Ive been wondering myself if there is graceful way of saying how much you appreciate feedback, a little blurb that you could put somewhere on your listing where they will see it.

Totally pointless putting anything in the listing - it's not like the buyer will go back and look at the listing again after the delivery arrives.

The place for messages like you are thinking about is in the "thank you note" that goes inside the parcel.

The exact same place you need to write "please contact me at [email address] or eBay Messages if you are unhappy in any way"

I would have to agree! Have sold about 15 things recently and only received feedback for 1. I find it annoying because my rating is not increasing, when it should be because I have had positive selling experiences.

well Stephanie, if all your 15 buyers have paid, you should leave them f/b, that may prompt them to do the same for you.

If you haven't received feedback by week 5 you can always email your buyer asking if they can conform they have received their item. Don't mention feedback. Often that will prompt them to leave feedback or at least let you know that it has arrived and then you can leave feedback for them and archive the transaction.

yes im a seller and i always leave feedback in both directions, but that is about to come to a end, why built a buyers credibility when they dont give a **bleep** about yours

one thing that has changed is that the Opening Poster is no longer on eBay. Click on their feedback score or "view items" link and you will see that that is an invalid eBay ID.

I went to look at the OP's feedback to see if they left more than they received just to see if the figures were skewed against the OP. When the "invalid ID" message came up I looked at the date of the thread and thought "d'oh". Nothing to do with my special balls padi!

But you're right with this bit -

I did think of that, because guys just want to buy whatever and that's the

end of the transaction.
