Very unfair negative feedback received from a 0 feedback rating buyer.

Hi all, how can I do to get Ebay to review and remove negative feedback a buyer has left for me. I sold them a COVER for a door draft stopper and they were expecting a cover and snake. The title clearly states the item is a cover and the item description says many times that the item is a cover only and buyer will have to purchase your own snake. No discussion was even attempted just neg. feedback left from a buyer with a 0 feedback rating. I requested a revision of feedback left by the buyer but they have formally declined stating the original feedback was correct. What can I do now? They also stated the item was overpriced and they thought it unbelievable they would have to fill the cover themselves. Obviously they chose to purchase the item at the cost it was. No questions were ever asked before purchase and the description is clear that the listing is for a cover only. Im so angry.........

Ring ebay and request removal as your description and title indicate it is for cover only.

However, whilst you have made it clear in title and descriptions that purchase is for cover only - your photos all show cover in use on a filled snake, and IMO would be quite misleading to someone who shops and purchases primarily based on photos.

have a cup of tea, when your calm enough ring ebay. there are probably several aspects of their feedback that you could ask ebay to remove. wait for a few more responces here first. which will give you time to calm down. you may have to ring ebay several times over the next week till you find a ebay person who can think for themselves as well.

I wouldnt buy anything without reading a description and if in doubt I would ask questions before buying. But, ok perhaps I should photograph them empty. Seems a shame, but there you go..............

There are some buyers that never read description, or at best give it a glance - a lot of angst would be easily avoided if they did, that's for sure.

I get some from time to time purchasing clothes that they didn't realise were not their size 😐 even though my titles and descriptions always give size and measurements too !!

Remember too, there are buyers that will not have English as their first language, or have limited literacy levels.

I'm sorry this has happened to you. It IS unfair - and upsetting. There shouldn't be any problem having the feedback removed.

Like thecatspjs, I'm discovering that lots of people don't read the description and rely solely on photographs. I got a narky comment in feedback this morning about a button missing from a coat I'd sold - it was clearly stated in the description. We can try to make things as clear as possible with lots of photos, but some things - like sizing - aren't visual.

Your listings are very clear that they are covers... even looking at the pictures.

OP, you can simply go to the site map - click the feedback forum link to find the "a buyer has left inappropriate feedback" link - and request its removal....easy

provide all details

i kind of agree thecats, i know a fella who sells lots model car decals/stickers, & receives lots of negs and nuets cos he displays a photo of the model car that suits & to give the buyer an idea on the size of the decals and how it would look on your model car.....doesnt deter him tho, persists with it.

And my items are created from quality quilters fabrics that cost $24+ a metre. I double sew the seams without an overlocker, so it is time consuming but creates a stronger item. You pay for what you get on quality.

But the issue is not about my workmanship anyway..........

The fact remains that the listing was for a cover only and no one was making this buyer purchase the item. It was their choice.

And I dont need to justify the price on the item- my issue is with feedback left that was very unfair considering the title and listing description was very clear what the item for sale was. I appreciate all the thoughts from others in this forum- Thank you.

I think the price is excellent especially since you include the cost of postage. Follow the advice above, contact ebay and ask it be removed. Your listing is very clear - and buy the way, I love your products, very nice.

Thank you colleenk4324 for your compliment. That was so nice. If I were to include a snake the postage alone would be $7.60 If this was a cheap material sewn cover overlocked at the seams only, then the price would be much lower. I try to create a quality, well constructed item. I will contact ebay.

Me thinks you're getting ripped off on the price of the fabric!

Have you ever thought of going into a furnishings upholstery workshop to buy up their ends of rolls of printed linens, tapestries and jacquards the end up piling up?

I know someone who made a decent business out of buying them up to turn into all sorts of household products at home.

I.E. Oven mitts, cushion covers, draft excluders, table centre runners, even teddybears believe it or not :^O

The upholstery shops were happy to recive $5-10 per metre for their odd metre or two leftovers and the fabrics are really heavy duty if you know what you're looking for, plus they are wider than the fabris you buy from the high street material stores, so more product per metre.

Just a thought for you 🙂

Anyway my original comment was intended to be an off-the-cuff personal opinion, not to start a war over it, and everyone else had already told you what you should do if you want to get the feedback removed, so I didn't bother repeating similar.

BTW.

The foral linen teddybears sell for her like hot cakes and are considered to be collectable by many buyers.

From memory they sit about 12" high.

Really quite cute although that's only a bloke's opinion who knows stuff all about making the little buggers 😉

jcam you don`t have to explain yourself, there are actually people out there who have absolutely no idea about the costs of fabrics, and how much they differ according to quality as well as design and personal appeal, I certainly would not even consider such an item be seen in my home unless it was pleasing to the eye. your pricing is perfectly acceptable, and items appealing to those who respect their homes and who like nice things to match their taste and decor.

I see the quality in your item. Having taught sewing in a high school in recent times I do understand the time involved in sewing items.

However, let me see what a buyer might expect based on your item title of "Draft Excluder, Draft Stopper,Door Sausage/Snake -NEW COVER- Wild Cottage Roses".

As stated by previous posters, many buyers do not read the whole description. Your description DOES clearly state that this is for a cover only. BUT, for those many buyers that buy on title and pics only, your title can be misconstrued as being a draft excluder with a new cover. I'm not saying that the buyer is right, what I am saying is that maybe your title needs a little tweaking. Try this "NEW COVER for Draft Excluders/Sausages/Snakes - Wild Cottage Roses pattern" as it clearly states at the start of the title that the item is a new cover.

I see you have plenty more of these listed and would hate for you to run into similar trouble again.

I agree that the feedback you received is 100% unwarranted and I wish you well in your efforts to have the feedback removed.

She sells on Ebay now and then. How frequently I don't know, but seems to do alright out of it when she does.

Perhaps I'm not the smartarz after all and the pot is calling the kettle here, as you so often tend to do.
