Old Categories Showing Up In Listings

On another account that i have, it used to have a shop and i had categories in it.

I just reactivated that shop and deleted and made new categories. That works fine in the shop but when you open a listing, it shows all the old categories.

Any ideas on how to get rid of that, it looks really really stupid.

I would assume you go in and delete them in the same area you added them.

It is Friday also, (maintenance day) maybe that is causing you problems

Just went into mine - and all working fine.

Have you checked if the category you are trying to delete is showing any items in it. If it is

you will need to remove them first and put into another live catergory

All the categories have been removed. I just went into display settings to stop categories showing altogether - they are no longer showing in the shop but are all showing in listings. All the old categories that were deleted about 8 months ago - that is.

ebay live chat is so useless - she is telling me how to delete categories aghhhh

that was done ages ago lol and yet are still showing. Hard making her understand.

OMG - the stupid woman from live chat went in and removed all my categories as if this would fix the problem - when i said to her - did you just go into my account and removed all of my categories, how does this help, you just messed up days of my work. I got back - chat ended goodbye

I take it you mean the store categories you created are showing in the side-bar even though there's no items in them and they no longer even exist?

That happens to me sometimes when I delete / create new categories, and usually reloading pages fixes it, but the best thing I can think of to do is go into the store settings for listing frame, tick the box to remove the sidebar from listings and save, then clear cookies and cache, sign back in add the sidebar back to the listing frame and see if that helps.

Now she has shut me out from even being able to create a category. I am now on the phone with ebay and this idiot is just as bad, he is asking me to go in and sell an item in their categories. He has no idea what the hell i am trying to say

Had me wondering then chrichton....then i realised i am not talking about this account, i am talking about another one of my accounts that has over 600 feedback.

Ebay live chat and on the phone have totally messed up that account. I will now close that store and consider that account dead in the wall and i will rename this one to suit my facebook page and build this one.

Seriously i keep forgetting what a pain ebay can be at times.

Phone eBay and speak to a supervisor - demand to speak to a supervisor. The drones they have working there are next to useless, and the SV's usually sort things out within minutes.
