Why should a seller be penalised when it was an accident? In addition as per my example, if a parcel arrives eventually how is that fair to a seller if a buyer is honest and wishes to revise feedback as they finally receive it and can see that item was sent out promptly.

No where in the link they provided me does it say there is a time limit for feedback removal that the eBay rep had advised me (unless I am blind).

Let me know your thoughts as I hope you can see where I am coming from with regards to my concerns.

Hi everyone,

I just received confirmation that eBay will not remove feedback left more than 60 days ago - is this correct?? I have not seen anything about the sort. For those who may wonder why there would even be a reason for this, I messaged a buyer more than 5 months ago asking if feedback left was a mistake, and they advised me that it was. eBay were unable to remove it even though in the message the buyer said it was an accident and they didn't mean to leave it. How is this fair?

How about a package gets lost and reappears several 2 months later and an honest buyer says it just arrived and would be happy to revise feedback

This is the message (and confirmed on phone) I received from eBay:

"Hi XXX

As promised here is the follow up email regarding the feedback that was left by XXX. Unfortunately, we cannot take action on this feedback because its past 60 days.

The transaction period is considered to be 60 days from the end of the listing or 30 days from the date the Feedback was left, whichever is longer. If this happens again, I suggest you respond to the cause of the negative feedback. The feedback that was left by XXX has to be reinstated as well because it doesn't fall within our feedback removal policy (WTF????)

Go to When eBay may remove or adjust Feedback:
http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/feedback-removal.html

I hope this helps.

Warm Regards,

XXX
ebay Customer Support

They have to have a cut off time or there could be requests put in months later than the 60 days.

The buyer can leave a follow up if they wanted it to be a different feedback but that is all that can be done.

If it was a neg or neut in 12 months time it will drop off the % anyway.

This is related to Feedback Revision Requests initiated by the seller as opposed to what I am inferring to. The rules outlined are timeframes to start the process e.g. sending in request for feedback revision through eBay and buyer has 10 days to respond to. Buyer took 5 months to respond to my request and they are happy to remove feedback as it was by accident. Why would a seller be penalised?

ebay have a time limit on the removal or request to change the FB and that is the rules we have to play by.

As you have no negs the neuts do not have an impact on your % rating so as it can not be removed or changed forget it and move on.

ebay's playground, ebay's rules whether we like them or not

Also, eBay will no longer revise based on messages from buyer or in response to feedback left. They will only do manual removal if buyer calls/messages eBay to request it or eBay contacts the buyer via phone or email.

Ebay won't remove feedback sent by a spiteful liar either...Anyone can damage your credibility on a whim or if you are their competitor..We all work hard to keep our feedback positive then get an unreasonable customer who is issued a refund and gives negative and damaging feedback, more or less calling you a thief minutes after giving a receipt of refund...I called ebay to complain and was told that's how the person felt about her experience..They don't care if she is lying..Two of my friends left ebay because their competitors bid on items, won them and refused to pay, making up some story that the sellers were listing inferior products and giving really negative feedbac......All lies and ebay did nothing so they left....It's not worth paying all these fees and getting no customer service...If i made a complaint in a store or any other business, they would look into it and determine whether it was unfair or defamation, to keep the customer...Not ebay..It's just bad luck that you get a crazy buyer telling lies and they will not remove defamation at all ,so basically anyone can say anything they like about you, whether it be true or false...Gumtree and FB both have places to sell your items without having to put up with this and they don't have fees..I'm deleting my account as soon as an item i'm bidding on ends..No point in building up positive feedback to have it ruined by a psychopath.
