My items stop selling suddenly.

I'm new to ebay. I started selling in August 2013. My items were selling ok but suddenly this week I have no sale and no view count. Paypal has ask me to provide identity verification which I have not provided yet. Will this affect my sales? I am selling gift and decoration items and this week I added industrial products. Just wondering if because of PayPal and adding items of very different category effect my sale? Please suggest

The PayPal request for verification shouldn't affect your traffic, but I think it will affect your cashflow as I'm pretty sure there are restrictions on withdrawing funds or sending payments (you should still be able to receive payments, though).

A sudden drop in traffic / sales is a fairly common issue, and unfortunately there is no "fix", just a few little things you can try in the hope that it helps (updating listings - titles, photos etc, expanding range, waiting....). I know that's not much help, but while it does happen to quite a few sellers, there's no guaranteed fix.

Perhaps when you started selling there were a finite number of people who might be interested in your items and now they have finished buying no one else is interested, who knows but nothing happening with Paypal will impact on your sales. You need to provide Paypal with what they require asap.

I have sold for sometime now and never heard of a paypal verification request being directly linked to impact on ebay sales. Given the type of items you are selling i can't think of why it would.

I can view and search your listings - I hope that is reassuring.

Can take some time to get some type of regular sales on a new ID and IMO at best, ebay sales are consistently erratic.

Paypal verification, or anything else to do with Paypal, has no impact on anything that happens on ebay!

It is still important to provide the verification as funds will almost certainly be frozen until they are provided and if you take too long they may put a complete hold on your account so you cannot accept payments either and that will impact negatively on your ebay account if buyers are unable to pay.

All paypal accounts have to be verified eventually, whether you are a seller or just a buyer.

It has to do with the amount of money being processed through the account and the Australian money laundering laws. You really need to do it as soon as possible or you may find your account frozen.

I received the email for PayPal requesting 2 types of id, photo id and id to verify address. But with all the comments I think this is not the reason for decrease on sale. Thanks to everyone for you response. I will provide the id to paypal and finger crossed hope sale will start.
