topic Is it possible Ebay could be any more wrong? in Selling

A couple of months ago I received an email from Ebay saying that my selling limits have changed (ie decreased) because it appears as if my account is linked to account XXXXXXX (I've not put the actual account name for privacy). I did a quick search in my email for that seller ID. I could see that I've purchased bubble wrap from them twice. That's it. Somehow Ebay think it's my account? **bleep**? Now, that I'm trying to sell again (because our main account has dropped off the map with best match listings), we can't sell because the selling limits are so low. Is there no end to Ebay's incompetence?

Complete waste of time. Every time I speak to Ebay it's the same cut and paste answers.

eBay is a dynamic, forward thinking progressive business. In answer to your question - of course! Everything is possible with a little effort.

I have another selling account and I hadn't used it for a few months. I had never had any selling limits but when I went to use it again I had limits of 10 items. Ugh I was shocked. Anyway, I phoned Ebay and they were immediately lifted up to 5,000 listings which is more than I would ever need. It's a pain, but it is worth phoning. But also I now realise that I will never let that ID lapse because it is good to have a backup. I like to sometimes sell other things on the other ID, things that don't fit in with my beachy stuff, so it's good to have another ID.

I get it that you are angry at not recieving your item, but by naming the sellers ID THREE TIMES, having had the mods edit your message twice, you are just asking to have your account suspended. You cant name and shame on the boards.

As to your actual problem, how did you pay for the item ? If it was paid for with paypal you can lodge a claim for "item not recieved " and have your funds reimbursed. If you hover your mouse on the menu next to the item in "purchased items" there should be an option titled " resolve a problem" or similar. Click on this and follow the prompts to begin the process of getting your money back.

If the buyer used tracking and can show the item was delivered to you, but maybe stolen from your mailbox etc. they will not be liable and you wont recieve a refund.

conrod50 said he purchased a PC at the same time, which means it would be OEM software, the seller is entitled to charge for it, and usually it comes pre-loaded and no discs are given. There should be a license key somewhere among the buyer's paperwork (invoice or packing list perhaps) and there may be an authentication sticker on the PC somewhere with the same key on it. If conrod50 needs to reload the software for any reason they can just download the OS from Microsoft and use this key to activate it.
