The shipping address doesn't affect your PayPal fee. Your buyer's PayPal account must not be registered with PayPal Australia.

The PayPal fee for receiving payments from buyers outside of Australia is 3.4% plus 30c instead of the regular 2.4% plus 30c. If you have a lot of overseas buyers you will need to build the extra 1% into your sell price.

On an 11. dollar item I pay paypal 56 cents, but i just recieved a paypal payment of 11.00 and noticed paypal had taken 67 cents. Not a huge issue but i like to know where my money is going. I saw no updates on a price increase. The only thing i noticed is that the buyers last name was Loh and that paypal fees differ from country to country, could he have used like his hong kong paypal and I got charged extra??? The paypal address is in Australia but of course you can easily update that. Im a bit miffed.

I think it's a few extra cents if the buyer uses their Amex card instead of A Visa or M/C.

You probably paid the extra because the buyer was not using a card issued by an Australian financial institution, console yourself with the thought that your fee is cheaper to start with than it would be if you were using a UK Paypal account lol.

Also isn't it better to make a sale and pay an extra few cents in fees than to have the item sitting there taking up space?
