No feedback

Hello,

I have sold two items so far to whereby I haven't received feedback. I'm guessing they were happy with the items I sold, as I haven't heard back with the contrary.

Any tips on what I should do to encourage these buyers to provide feedback? It just seems a bit unfair that I have provided positive feedback and I guess I expect the same back.

Thanks

feedback is a voluntary thing

some buyers leave it

some do not

some sellers leave it

some do not

some leave it once a month for all transactions

dont worry about f/b, and dont email begging for it, you may get a f/b you do not want.

it has been known for an irate buyer to then leave a big red dot with comment -here's that fb you were looking for!!!!!

Feedback is voluntary.

Some leave it when ebay send the reminder at 30 days and some simply don't leave feedback at all.

Don't ask for it, you may get the opposite for pushing for it.

Just keep giving good service and your feedback will grow to the point it won't interest you anymore. 😉

Hi Fiona,

Feedback is voluntary and not mandatory. No feedback is usually in my eyes a happy customer.

But I do hear where you are coming from especially when you are trying to build up your reputation and have started a new ebay account/ID.

I think the starting point and what you could give a try....is your communication with your buyers. I know this may not be practical for everyone (especially if you have a large store), but when I have posted an item, I like to send an email to the buyer & provide that little bit extra customer service where I confirm that I have posted the item, tell them the approx. expected Australia Post delivery time for their State, provide them with the tracking number and in this email you could include a short sentence saying that you would appreciate feedback being left upon receipt of the item and obviously to contact you if there are any issues. That way it doesn't look too pushy. I have also seen alot of sellers put a sentence in their listings about Feedback, encouraging their buyers to leave it and also contact them with any concerns.

I suppose everyone will have a different view on this topic, but you definitely can not force someone to leave feedback, but a bit of polite encouragement won't hurt and is worth a try.

Re: No feedback

aj if you mark items as posted, use click & send or manually enter a tracking number then ebay send an automated message to say the item has been posted and many of us do not want another email from the seller cluttering up our in box.

I would also be very careful of quoting AP's expected delivery dates, Stephen King writes more believable fiction lol.

If you are bothered about getting feedback then it is OK to send an email after about 3 weeks asking the buyer if they can confirm they have received their parcel so you can leave feedback and archive the transaction, this can often prompt them to leave feedback.

Other than that I would just take the view that no news is good news and don't worry, before you know it your feedback will be in treble figures.

Hi Fiona,

As a seller my feedback rate is probably approx 80%.

I send a message that I have posted, & that "if there are any problems, please contact me".

I then leave feedback for the buyer. All finished my end.

I never ask for feedback. Sometimes it appears weeks later.

I am certain they would contact you if there are not happy.

You could perhaps write a blurb (re feedback etc) and put it in the parcel?

Thank you all for your replies!

I accept that feedback is voluntary and I have to take on board that some do and some don't.

And the comments about receiving feedback after the monthly reminder from ebay, have proved to be true as I have received feeback recently from a transaction that took place last month. So thanks putney32 and kopenhagen5!

I like the suggestion made by aj and pj and yes so true about quoting AP delivery dates pj!

Thanks mccrea2007 for your advice, great idea about putting a short message about posting item and contact me if any problems.

Thanks again everyone for your comments.
