Thought I would ask the wisdom of you all here 🙂

I have sold a bit on here before so feeling a bit dumb (I have work brain!) - I got charged $150ish to my bank account from PayPal Australia earlier this week - am I correct in thinking the fees automatically come out of payments you recieve, and PayPal doesn't invoice you fees lump sum...I'm trying to trace the $150 I have been charged but can't think of what I have bought that hasn't come up from my PayPal account and bank statements.

I was going to contact them with the reference number of the payment but just thought I'd check to see if it is fees or a supposed payment as I have found some of them a bit hopeless in the past at understanding what I am saying so don't want to confuse them 😛

Do you mean that you have sold things on eBay in the last billing period and you have now been charged for the month's fees?

That invoice would be in your messages and in your Seller's account.

Most have automatic payment of their fees set up. so eBay charge you, send you an invoice (in my case on the 30th of the month telling me payment will be drawn btwn the 14th and 17th) and it gets automatically paid by PayPal.

This includes the whole month's fees from eBay - FVF's any listing fees etc

Also you should have received an email from PayPal saying "thankyou for your payment to......"

I don't know how much you sold last month but if you have your automatic fee payments to go through Paypal then that could be it, fees usually come out around the 1st or 15th of the month depending on your invoice date.

I got invoiced seller fees from eBay the same day for $99.50, so not my eBay fees. I will contact PayPal to sort it out, just didn't want to get through to them to find it was just fees. 🙂

do you have more than one selling account?

each account gets charged seperately (well mine do)

Nope, only the one account 🙂

Have emailed PayPal now, hopefully will get an answer for it!

Email seemed the easiest option with weird work hours and not having a house phone working - I always forget to call about stuff so I email on my work breaks when I remember! 😛

I heard back and they don't know the reference number so they think maybe it is fraud...just checked my bank statements so they can find date and exact amount to trace it and found another one for the exact amount yesterday. Will give them a call today if I don't hear back soon!!

Sigh...but if it is fraud it will be nice to get $300 back that I thought I must have owed or spent!!!

Well just to give an update - thankgod for the suggestion of calling - I was having some back and forth emails through different staff members of PayPal telling me the $151.31 was the conversion of $99.59 of fees to eBay international, even though it was 2 transactions equalling $250.90...got on the phone with eBay who told me they only took $99.59 so contact PayPal. Within a minute, the lady could tell me it was from my bill to Telstra, the amounts weren't the same due to having balance in my PP account. Duh.

All sorted now, phew!! But geeze.
