I see we have another poll re sellers being able to leave negative feedback. What is the point?

As we can automatically block bidders with 2 or more non paying strikes I would also like to be able to block those serial buyers who continually have items go missing. 2 or more in 12 months, same as non payers.

Also it would be interesting for sellers to be able to rate buyers on their payment attitude. 1 to 5 same as our seller DSR's.

5 for instant payment down to 1 for non payment

You never know. One day I might even see a flying pig:^O

Why bother indeed.

I have no interest in buyer feedback, my own or anyone else's.

I have my blocks in place to stop serial non payers and as most of my items are BIN it would make no difference anyway.

For my auction items I have better use for my time than checking out the feedback of every bidder just to block any that appear to have justified negs, back in the day when buyers could get negs it was obvious that very many of them were just retaliatory negs left by carp sellers and I would be happy to sell to them anyway.

Why would you want to penalise buyers who had a misfortune of their items to go missing? I buy many items on line and although the percentage that has gone missing is tiny, I have had several items not not arriving, or arriving via OSAKA, 8 weeks later !!! In this moment I have 2 items seriously overdue. As I am usually here when the postie arrives, I know there is no way they get taken out of my mailbox (big and locked anyway). If these 2 items, from 2 different sellers, bought about week apart, do not arrive you would want to be able to block me? ?:|

A system for sellers to rate buyers on how the seller feels the transaction went sounds good to me. If buyers can weild alot of power, why can't sellers? Non-payment isn't all that big of a deal in the end, as 99% pay on time, so it's more than just UPI that is the issue. In addition, BBL is just for one specific seller - it doesn't apply to every seller.

There should be a system where sellers can rate buyers on something more than simply payment or non-payment. Buyers can do it and trash a seller's feedback in an instant. There should be an option for the seller to respond appropriately and have it visible to potential sellers - too many negative ratings from a seller and the buyer gets a strike. It's about both sides leaving fair feedback on the transaction, start to finish. The notion that payment is all that constitutes a positive or a negative (from a seller) is wrong.

But what you said was that you would like to see people who have made 2 or more claims. Person who gets their mailbox raided, or who lives in an area with stealing postie, may lose several parcels before some remedial action is taken.
The way to handle lost parcels is filling "missing parcel" forms at the PO (you may have to be quite insistent, as the staff does not like giving them out) and let AP deal with it. How other way can AP pin point where they have problem? If people report every missing parcel, it would become very quickly apparent if one person claims repeatedly they did not get a parcel, or if parcels go missing in certain area that is delivered by certain driver.

Excellent idea. There definitely are "buyers" out there who claim that their purchase "goes missing" and demand a refund.Value is usually under $30 so the seller,to avoid a negative, simply gives a refund and moves on. Buyers,as well as sellers, must be held to account. The existing feedback system is flawed and should be addressed by eBay.What happened a few years ago was deserved by some rogue sellers but the wheel has turned.Similar thing with slow payers who can hold honest sellers to account. No Buyer or seller must be allowed to become a protected species. The system has to be fair to all and that is why a review is needed.

Personally, I would like to say thank you to the sellers who flout the Ebay rules and leave a positive rating (unfortunately the only way to do it) with a negative comment about non paying buyrers. I have the blocks in place as well and received this yesterday :

"can you please excempt me to be allowed to bid as ebay is restricting me i will pay asap if i win tnx" So I had a look at her feedback.

4/9/12 No payment or contact

21/9/12 No response or payment

6/10/12 Negative! Did not pay

I have had so many non-payers recently, why doesn't Ebay let you re-list an item for free when this happens?? My patience is wearing thin 😞

"I would also like to be able to block those serial buyers who continually have items go missing. 2 or more in 12 months, same as non payers."

So you would rather have an unsold item than accept a bid from a buyer who had the misfortune to buy from 3 carp sellers who either didn't deliver or sent something not as described?
