Does anyone use Linux mint?? If so, is it compatible with turbolister? I downloaded turbo but get a file error message. I am assuming it's not compatible but just thought I would ask. New to linux as well, so forgive me being dumbo about it....jilly

Can you put a Windows partition on your hard drive? For all those pesky programs that don't run on Linux.

I am not that familiar with Linux myself but my understanding is that you can use a program called WINE which allows you to run Windows applications on Linux: http://www.winehq.org

Oh thanks for all the replies. Appreciate it. Yes, I do have wine on there....and I might get my geeky friend to partition and run basic windows parallel. Is there such a thing as basic windows though...ha..I eventually discovered TL is not sympatico with linux. Still learning how to use it....I like it...might stick the parallel windows on my mac though....more space on the drive. Thanks guys...and gals...jilly

I'm running Linux Mint 13, Jilly. An easier way would be to install "Virtualbox" into your Linux Mint distro, install "Windows" into that. then Turbolister into Windows. You'll find Virtualbox in the Synaptic Package Manager - Mint menu > Administration > Synaptic Package Manager.

Doing it this way means you don't have to reboot into Windows just to use Turbolister & then have to reboot again to get back into Linux. You just open Virtualbox & start Windows, & when you're finished listing, close the Virtualbox window. When installed, Virtualbox will be in "Accessories" in Mint Menu.

If you have a mac then i'd suggest looking at purchasing garagesale for mac as a turbolister substitute.

This will save you buying a copy of both parallels and windows just to run auction listing software.
