NEED HELP ABOUT RELISTING ITEMS NOT PAID FOR

Hi any help will be greatly appreciated with the following..To keep along story short a buyer won 4 succesful bidding auctions from me back in early september..She contacted me a week later to say she was sick and had to go to hospital and could i wait a few weeks until she came home to pay ..I agreed and in the meantime one of her items was accidently damaged..When 2 weeks passed i managed to email her and explain..She was very good and agreed to close case on item i no longer had to offer her.After that she asked if she could have another few weeks grace to pay for other 3 items as she had just returned from hospital and needed to get her finances better and then she would pay with paypal..Now that time has also passed and ive tried 3 unsuccesful times to make contact..I also offered her my contact number a while back but she refused at the time to give me hers( as i thought with her problems i could also text her if neccesary) any way looks now like she isnt going to pay and i have tried to open cases to end the items but ebay says i cant as its been to long to open a case and that i should talk to buyer..Which she isnt communicating..What can i do..can i relist the items and should i call ebay...Help please..These items could be going to somebody else who would also love them for christmas ...

Has it been more than 32 days since the sale? I'm assuming it has then it is too late for you to open up a non payment dispute which would then give you back your final valuation fees and issue the buyer a strike. You may as well try it though. Go to your sold item. Over on the RHS of screen click on the drop down menu and click resolve a problem (or similar) it will then bring up a new page select I sold an item and haven't been paid. If that fails try contacting ebay through the customer support link at top of page.

I would relist item, buyer has had plenty of time and not communicating.

Thanks so much..Yes i tried to resolve problem but its over the time limit..I think ive been fair and yes i will relist..How do i block that particular bidder from trying to purchase again Just in case..

ok thanks think ive done that succesfully i put the user id and a comma as asked.. I put also to stop blocked buyers from making contact..Are you able to tell me how i check the blocked buyer list is succesful..Also just checked the persons feedback i have blocked and found it all really bad..Loads of non communication and payments and seller bewares ..Boy wish i had of looked earlier this buyer should not be on ebay..One of the worst ive read about

Go back to your blocked buyers list and if you see the buyer that you just blocked then you were successful in blocking that buyer.

Yes its thier..Thank you " success".....Realy scary how bad that buyer was..How does ebay continue to allow her on site..She has caused alot of people thier fees to re sell items..

What is hitting me here is she bid on 4 items then contacted you a week later.

So she was on the computer then. She could have quickly paid via paypal right then and there.

In other words, she really didn't want to spend the money.

You were more than reasonable with her, it is a pity you can't do an unpaid items dispute.

But you should be able to relist.

If your time to lodge a claim has expired, has her time to lodge feedback also expired? With luck it will have.

Hi yes she should have paid me when she made contact before going into hospital and i too thought at the time , well she is already on the computer so why not pay me... How ever at that time i felt sorry for her and thought depending on what was wrong with her she shouldnt have to worry about immediate payment..( stupid me)..I have now relisted the items again and put a block on her hopefully now from re-bidding ever again..I dont think she could leave me any feedback at all because she never completed the sale with payment and i think that stops any feedback being given..If she does for any reason manage to do so then i will call ebay to have it removed..

Unfortunately she can. As a buyer, in purchase history, there is a drop down menu

gee that's dissapointing. I always work very hard at maintaining exellent feedback...well i'll keep a watch and suppose i will also have the option also giving her feedback if that happens.( not tht any other negative feedback from other bitten sellers has previously bothered her).Do you think ebay will remove her feedback if i explain what has happened if she does..They only have to read her previous feedback list to see how consistently she does this to people ..Also i had to relist the items as otherwise beacause i cannot open a case for unpaid item any more i would be stuck just waiting for ever with the items at home hoping she'd eventually pay and that is definatley not right for me to be unable to sell them to a genuine paying customer..

Thank you ...learnt another valuable ebay lesson today...Still think its unfair that only positive can be selected when giving buyers feedback as it was beacuse i saw her positive overall feedback number i didnt look into the actual messages sent back to her from sellers ( forgot for that moment that we cant leave neg)..Their are always special exceptions in regards to bad buyers so why wont ebay look at that overall..Also because i was too nice i let the time lapse for the unpaid item dispute claim and if i hadnt then she would have been unable to possibly leave any feedback at all..

Jenni, I realise that the time for lodging a UPI has expired but if you give ebay a ring and explain the situation as you did in your OP, I don't want you to get your hopes up too much, but it's entirely likely that ebay will credit your account with the FVFs for the items in question.

Forget about emailing ebay; that'll probably get you nowhere, but when ringing and talking to them in person you'll find that they are generally only too happy to correct or rectify minor oversights such as yours. Good luck. 🙂

thanks ill give it a go....I have relisted all the items ( yesterday)..I dont care too much about losing the FVF on them more worried if she leaves me negative feedback once she finds out ive relisted them all again..Ive worked hard at keeping a great record and will find it devasting if she damages my good feedback record...

I'm sorry, I don't mean to be rude but I don't understand how someone can have 661 positive feedback (approximately 66% of which is pertaining to their activities as a seller) and not be experienced enough to know how to deal with non-paying bidders. Have you truly been blessed to the point that this has never happened before? Why would you give this person so much 5 minutes more time to pay over the 4 days you have to give them? Non paying bidders are a fact of life on eBay but sellers who are not pro-active just make it difficult for the rest of us.

I generally find that my customers are quick with payments or communication and yes its happened on a few occasions before.. How ever Generally i go with my gut instinct when it comes to people making arrangements with me..I have worked hard to get this result to date and sometimes if you do good deeds for people you are rewarded..I have many regular customers now who are appreciative of the times they for one reason or another needed a bit more time to pay and now reward me with regular purchases and understand also if something unforseen happens on my end to and i have to delay postage ( eg recent funerals)..Usually i get a feel for a trustworthy person and its really been the first time i have encountered a person like the one mentioned and misjudged them..what can i say i am just a person who likes to keep people happy and in the most part i think alot of buyers respect that...

The trouble is your "gut feeling" cost you money and this person doesn't even have a NPB strike against them, so now it is much easier for them to do it to somebody else.

Regardless of the outcome this time, I say always go with your gut instinct it is usually correct. There have been plenty of times in the past I have not listened to mine and been burnt.

I think it is great you are a bit flexible.

Someone said never to allow more than the 4 days, but there have been times when I, as a buyer, have had to pick up items and have asked if I could go on the next weekend at a mutually agreeable time, and a couple of times that may have been 5 days away. I have never had a problem with sellers saying no, it has to be within the 4 days, but in return I have always turned up exactly when I said I would.

So a little bit of flexibility is good.

If I were to sell though, I would have a problem with someone trying to delay payment for weeks. Not sure exactly what I would do. Perhaps if someone asked to delay for weeks, I would say i would extend it for eg 2 weeks but after that I would have to ask for a sale cancellation or else file an unpaid item dispute?

Sellers need to cover themselves so they can get the selling fees back if they need to.
