Australia Post system upgrade

Not sure if this will be the case for all post offices but my post lady told me at 12am tonight there will be a computer software upgrade. There will probably be a few teething problems tomorrow if that is the case.

I have seen a few posts about a huge backlog of parcels at Aust Post, but we can all rest easy, I got this email from Aust Post

I for one will be hoping that they fix this ridiculous Signature on Delivery system for non-ebay satchel labels.

Currently it goes like this.

1. Fill in details at C & S site and select SOD.

2. Print the label and attached to ordinary ( non-ebay satchel ) parcel.

3. Buyer is advised of the tracking number automatically and sees it on their purchase record.

4. Take the parcel to post office.

5. They place a NEW LABEL on the package and scan in IT'S barcode.

6. You have to go to the buyer's record in ebay and alter the tracking number.

100% PATHETIC

I actually sold something yesterday, but not on here though.

Fairly big box with sign on delivery - went into C&S & printed out the code, BUT at the local PO it would only read the code for the sending/tracking of the box, not the SOD.

A new 'Sign on delivery sticker' had to be put on the box - so it has be going out with the code & a SOD sticker on it.

I just looked at the tracking & it has tracking of both numbers.
