Neutral feedback and neg comment revision...?

Only my second neutral/neg in 7 years on ebay. Today I received a neutral feedback with a somewhat neg comment for a recently sold bicycle kickstand - "Prompt but does not fit most Mountain bikes." Would he really know if the kickstand doesn't fit most mountain bikes?

Although it's been a bit slow lately, I've sold 41 of these kickstands over the past year, and never had one back or received and adverse comments about them - on the contrary, judging by all the positive feedback I've had about them, buyers seem to like them.

I have one of these kickstands on two of my own mountain bikes - one a Giant, and one an Apollo with no issues. My riding friend has one on his Merida - no issues.

I've requested feedback revision - stating "Unfair/untrue comment and neutral feedback. Kickstand functions as intended and as advertised. Have sold dozens of these kickstands to mountain bike owners with no fitting problems. Buyers bike may be unsuitable."

I've been reading this forum a lot lately, and appreciate the useful information it gives. Can I use the collective wisdom in it to ask: Does my revision request sound fair? thanks. littleritty68

Hows is that a neg comment? Its the buyers perception and to have it remove you would need t prove it does fit most bike not just three of your friends. The feedbacks in the listing that you provided dont mention NOT having problems fitting at all. But good luck getting it removed as I dont see it as being a real issue.

Did you honestly send a feedback revision request to the buyer using THOSE exact words?

'...does not fit most Mountain bikes' is an idiot statement unless of course the buyer owns many mountain bikes of various brands.

I wouldn't waste any time appealing a neut, in the time you are going to spend posting here and contacting ebay and/or the buyer you could have listed a few more items which would help send the neut down the page so it wouldn't even be noticed.

Have you contacted the buyer and asked them if there is anything you can do to help them fit the thing, have you offered them a refund if they return it?

Please act expeditiously to remove or disable access to these materials.

The statement is false unless backed up by the buyer's methodical testing of the item for fit on more than 50% of all mountain bike brands.

It doesn't require too much effort PJ.

Fill out the form, attached copy of feedback page and have it witnessed.

Scan or photograph and upload to ebay.

I have had feedback removed on other ID's for less damaging f/b.

littleritty, It's a neut, and a neutral is exactly that.

It doesn't effect your account and if you don't respond to it, it's barely visible.

Also it may not be long before it's off your first page anyway. 😉

On those same grounds then termalert, its an idiot statement for the seller to mention in the listing that it fits all 26-28 " bikes. Unless the seller has many bikes how can they prove it?

Suitable for 24" - 28" bikes.

Yes I guess it could be interpreted as ALL.

OP go with the def claim. What can ebay say except

maybe no or yes.

When I check a seller's feedback I don't scroll at all.

I just click on the negs and neutrals in the summary.

Can't imagine buyers scrolling but then I forget that I once didn't know any better.

It may take very little time to fill in the form but the OP has already spent time posting here and reading the comments plus replying to say nothing of the time they have already spent contacting ebay and, one would hope, the buyer.

I don't know why everyone assumes that by does not fit all mountain bikes they mean the size of the stand, perhaps they mean that it does not fit the particular brand of bike they have.
