Nope. As it is a pretty minimal reason for having to pay to send everything else back, trackable, at their own expense. Unless, of course the lid is worth more than postage for the entire set.

Therein lies the catch.

I recently sold a full Canister & Spice Set including Rack.. I am very methodical when it comes to packing my items, these canisters are nestling canisters.

I know for sure, as I had repacked item the day before I posted that every piece was there.

I received an email from buyer - buyer's first purchase on ebay, saying that one of the lids was missing.. I responded that I packed it. He again emailed me saying that if he didn't receive the lid he would return item to me. I again responded I had posted it.

This was Friday & I have not received any further communications from the buyer.

I am sticking to my guns here as I know every canister & every lid was packed..

I won't be intimated nor threatened by a buyer.

Any suggestions.. Ive spoken to ebay twice about this matter...

this is not my seeling ID

if they open an Item Not as Described case with Paypal, they will be required to return it to you, trackable, at their own expense.

As you are sure they are wrong, that might be the way to go.

Or maybe you could ask for photos, have a look around your storage area for a spare lid...

it seems an unusual thing for a scammer to pick on. Maybe you didn't actually send the lid? Just a thought.

Dave did it ever cross your mind that maybe and it's just maybe that the buyer had a set of these and was missing lid now has a lid and wants his money back. That to me seems a more possible cause than a methodical seller forgetting to send it. I will put money on it .

Politely ask the buyer to return the item to you.IF he does refund their money and move on.Any negative feedback that may be left can be removed by Ebay by explaining the situation to them.

I am more inclined to believe that the buyer needed to replace a lid..

The question can only be answered by a search of the buyers premises or keeping an eye on sales over the next period of time.

The buyer has provided no proof that the lid was not delivered.

The buyer returns the item at their cost and possibly has a full set to sell. At least by getting them to return the item they have to pay something for the replacement lid.

The seller is left with a not so valuable incomplete set and loses money as well.

I agree with the seller to stick to their guns.

(I mean why would a seller send an incomplete set? ) And if the lid happens to reappear when the rest is returned then have a word with the fraud squad in your state.

Im sure the fraud squad has more important things to worry about than a lost lid. How would you suggest the buyer provide proof for the missing lid? I am guessing by photo? At which point it would be safe to say they would not photograph it if they really did receive it (unless they are blind and you play Where's Wally and point out to them the location of the lid in the photo 🙂

No Dave I wouldn't have a clue if they do or don't I only pointed out it could be nothing more just highlighting that you perception of it being missing is nothing more than an assumption which you should not be doing as you I or anyone else simply do not know. This is why you should only stick to answering the question and keep your assumptions to yourself.

Also Dave who the hell said they want it for profit they may just want a complete set for themselves and if you were aware that kitchenalia is actually very popular and yes can be several hundred dollars for the right Art Deco or. Retro style units. So your theory of it's not worth it is some what floored for many many reasons that's why you should just answer the question and assume NOTHING.
