Free listings?

When should i expect a free listing? Is anyone else thinking it would of been today going from past freebies?

one can only hope some promo free listings may come soon but as most come via invite only ive not had a invite since november 2012 so i wont hold my breaath but ill keep hoping in the mean time lol.

I have found most offers appear on Thursday for the Friday through to Sunday.

We should be getting an offer this week????????????????????????

I rely greately on the free listings period and i havn't had the offer since December.

Ebay is rediculously expensive and if you don't actually get a lot of busines, what you do make goes straight out to pay the fees. I don't understand whay other auction sites can let you list for free and not ebay.

I hope ebay are reading this. Please have the free listing periods on a regular basis. I 'm loosing customers and profit.

Non-store owners get 40 free listings every month.

And no, ebay don't read these postings

The free listing entitlement is available in most categories, and for many listing formats. Non-Store Package subscribers receive the first 40 Fixed Price or Auction listings free every month.

Before May last year the only freebies were occasional ones for 99c auctions.

Now nobody wants to list unless they get freebies.

Which is eBay's fault for raising expectations.

First time poster here, so be gentle with me hey...

How come 'Shop Sellers' only get freebies on 'Fixed Price Listings' & not on 'Auction Listings'?

I just don't get that... Surely offering all options would generate more $$$ for eBay... & I just can't get that excited about laying down cash for listings that have no potential upside (ie only a Fixed Price outcome)... IMO, a big part of the joy of this place is connecting with someone who perhaps irrationally, but none the less with their eyes wide open, values what you are are offering at even more than you might have anticipated it was worth!

OK... I'm bracing... You can let me have it now 🙂

Depends what you are selling. I sell used books, the value of which is fairly well established.

As stores are designed for BIN, they don't attract free listings for auctions, but the listing fees for BIN are far less than auctions. 5c in my case.

Store owners can list auctions in the Collectible categories either as part of their free listing allocation, or at a reduced rate ($1.00) if their free listings are used up (Collectibles includes a variety of things most wouldn't usually consider "collectible", like Crafts and all of its sub-categories). As dave says, it most likely because eBay wants stores to be geared towards fixed price listings, whist still recognising that there are some categories where auctions are still relatively well-contested so are still a popular format for the not-so casual sellers.

Sometimes auctions are included in the free listings. I got 5000 just before Christmas and again just after Christmas, both included auction listings. Depepnds on their mood I guess

I just received the 10000 free listing offer on items over $100. Wish I that much stock and stock of that value to sell 🙂

Having said that, if I was selling $100 + items, I wouldn`t complain about the 20 cent listing fee
