They have got me too very recently when my third party listing provider had a glitch and a duplicate was processed.

As a buyer I have also reported sellers that have spammed a category I may be browsing in with multiple duplicate listings and from what I can see through experience repeated reporting does see the offending listings eventually removed, but IMO it is such a waste of my time to have to sit and report multiple listings singly and then go back and check and do the follow up a few times.

My expectation as a buyer and seller is that eBay will investigate each and every report in a timely and thorough manner - it is their policies we are seeking them to follow up on afterall. Several weeks later after repeated reports does not cut it for me when the all important "buyer experience" is being compromised

Duplicate Listings - eBay state that fixed duplicate listings re not allowed for the same identical items.

When a seller is reported to them for 'breaking' the rules eBay don't seems to do anything.

Numerous times I have reported sellers for doing the 'wrong' thing and listings do not get removed.

Trying via the customer help now seems to also bring you back to the same spot to reporting - nothing happens.

!!!!

Oh, but they do. I listed a book and after four hours it still was not in my selling items and thought that i had not completed the listing and did it again and within hours, I go a violation notice, although the original listing and the duplicate listing were not in my selling items.

The original listing appeared about 30 hours after I had first listed it.

I am not sure what happened there.

It seems they only pick on us little sellers. I was slammed for having 2 of the same items listed by mistake.

I've been an eBay member for a fair while so I've seen my share of policy breaches. This includes - of course - duplicate listings. I still see quite a few but tonight was hunting for a car part and came across a seller with SIXTY identical items with identical part numbers, same picture i.e all the same part for the same model car.

Search "KHFL-47HD" There are 77 odd results. 60 from a "performace" parts seller.

Not only confusing for new eBay users/buyers but also irritating for the rest of us. Disappointing too, initially I thought I had a heap of items to look through and find the best deal. Grrr.

/RANT
