Big downturn in sales is being spoken about all over - personally I have also experienced it.

It seems to be based on big glitches with the search? (throwing up overseas listings only for one thing!)

We operate 2x ebay stores and estimate that for the past 2/3-weeks our sales are down about 60%.

On Wed this week for the first time ever since opening our stores (12-months ago now) one store went 2-days without a single sale. It has been a terrible month.

On the upside tho ebay haven't taken much from us in fees this month.

But I guess for them it doesn't matter as those same buyers who might have otherwise bought from us are still buying, but probably just from Chinese sellers as that is what is coming up tops on the search results in our category.

We will be ready very soon to launch our own web site so hoping that will provide us with some backup to here in the quiet times. If we can get that working how we would like it to over the next 12-months we will cease trading on here and rely on our own site. Use the exorbitant fees we pay here in marketing campaigns for our own site. We are quietly confident this will work.

I too have experienced a drop in sales , No sales at all last night or today , very quiet !

I suspecting its something with ebay implementing location or something in searches ?? dont know.

I hope it gets fixed up.

sales what is this thing called sales

sales have been very slow since start of February maybe ebay,s search fault or the fact that people are just not spending.

there are many Aussies living with the fear of job losses and people are just holding on to the little they use to spend on luxuries.

hope sales pick up soon or ill have to unretire myself and go back to work .

Yeah that's our intention too. But the main focus will be on the new web site.

If/when it gets to a point where it is supporting us sufficiently then we will close out of ebay altogether.

I wish I could have a huge downturn on purchases. I am not very well at the moment so just left my store ticking over thinking I wouldn't sell much but I am actually selling quite a bit. Unfortunately it means I am going to have to close my store down in a few days instead of at the end of the month.

Sales down 55% on monthly averages, dead as a DODO on all IDs including the auction listing one. ( 100 free listings, a few sales but VERRRRRRY SLOOOOOOOW ) Did eighty new listings in the last couple of days for two extra sales. I would normally expect around ten !!!

I have read through this, and was interested enough to go check out some searches.

Different items in different categories. Did not seem to be any problems with including Australian and overseas items, or then limiting the search to Australia only. Then taking key words from the Chinese sellers on this site to exclude them.

I know these have been a problem at times lately, but today, and last night, were fine (Sat and Sun).

eBay does maintenance on Fridays so that can throw up glitches.

On the plus side, I bought a few things from Australian sellers 🙂 courtesy of this thread getting me looking.

Sales are terrible, and searching for things brings up a lot of US listings and the AU listings are further down the page. 😕

Sold six of the eighty new BIN listings today, ( three days after listing them ) plus some good results in some auctions and a few sales on existing BIN items. This follows no sales at all for 36 hours middle of week. Is this another example of the "on again, off again" results many are experiencing ??? All very strange

Glad to hear some of you are picking up......its encouraging.

My sales are.....well non existent hahah......I am living in donut land currently.

This is the same disaster December was, had a reasonable Feb and thought things were picking up again.........silly me.

Oh well the joys of ebay....:)

doing the happy dance

over the past 4 days between my 2 accounts ive had 21 sales. in the whole month of febuary i had a grand total of two sales.

hope other sellers are exprincing a better week as well.

We mailed out 6 items today from 2x stores.

When its going well we normally send out 20-25 per day.

Been like this for the past few weeks now.

Since the end of the last round of FREE listings we used up.

So I have no idea why this is so but its gonna get hard to feed us if this keeps up.
