What exactly is the rule regarding multiple listings? for non-store sellers?

I have started selling signed copies of two of my books. If I list them separately and with staggered finishing times am I allowed to list more than one copy of each title at the same time?

As far as I'm aware, when listing items for auction as against bin, multiple listings are permitted.:-)

Thanks Motherbear. Supposing I want to put a BIN on them as well, would that make a difference?

If you are selling multiples of the same items at the same time there must be differences in photos, titles and prices.

I thought it was any multiple of exactly same item - auction or BIN. You could list say red T-shirt in size 10, 12, and 14, but not 2 red T-shirts size 12. But you could list red size 12 and blue size 12.

The whole point is that large sellers do not flood eBay with pages and pages of the same item.

So I do not think you are allowed to list the same book twice, not even with a different photo. But could somebody put up the actual rule, please?

I really would like to know for sure; have some items that I would like to list separetly, but people may want them as set. Like chairs and lamp shades. Listing them as set may put off buyers who only need one.

Allowed

More than one auction-style listing for identical items, including auction-style listings with a Buy It Now price, as long as the seller's sales history for duplicate auction-style listings is successful.

Two or more auction-style listings for items that are not considered "identical", such as:

Two or more listings that show differences between the items in the title, price, photos, subtitle, product ID, item specifics, or parts compatibility areas of the listings.

One listing selling multiple items that are identical.

Two or more listings to sell bundles or "lots" of items that are very different and clearly satisfy different buyer needs. For example, listing a pack of 10 envelopes meets one buyer's needs while a pack of 100 envelopes would meet another buyer's needs.

Two or more listings where the items are the same but are in different conditions, such as 1 new, 1 used, and 1 refurbished item.

So, reading the guidelines, it would appear I can list multiple copies as auctions only - as long as they all sell. Now all I need to do is buy a crystal ball!X-(
